How many of you learned something from the comics, then were disappointed by X3?

How many of you, like me, learned your first German and Russian words through the X-Men? How many if you learned your first FOREIGN words through the X-men? The X has fallen far these days, as the head of Marvel has said he wants the X titles to draw fewer people, but I just don't understand how the people in charge can oppose a book that by its nature encourages learning? WHy can't X-Men be a vehicle for learning things as they entertain? That is, in the end, why the book attracted the gek crowd of my generation... and if Marvel thinks they will attract the non-geek crowd by chasing us off, then they haven't really watched MTV or VH1, et al...
