I remember having a previous discuss in a thread which was unrelated to the actual topic of the tread but it was about where sequels and prequels go, basically it was looking at where we could go moving forward from x-men 3 to an x-men 4... However that discuss was pre-watching X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Since then i have thought more on the subject...

So here is my thoughts on where X-Men Origins: Wolverine has given invisable threads for the future and to give a better understanding to some of the plot holes the movie gave.

as with most stories, lets begin with The End or Endings... the small nodes to suggest where the sequel will move on to. So we have 2 seen endings we wont go into ones speculated but the first ending is Wolverine in Japan. and the barmaid being Yuriko the future Lady Deathstrike.

Now alot of people are thinking the following, How can wolverine meet pre-lady deathstrike before x-men 2 without having any memory of her. Well my thoughts on this is simply that how often in life do your actions lead you on a path, where you dont necessarly see who is effected by them. What i mean is does anyone remember the barmaid/barman on a night out drinking, even if you were drinking a soft drink? Usually in life you meet that person once and you most likely will forget about them, as they will most likely forget about you... How many barmaids will remember you when they serve hundres of people a day. But think of this, what if you were in a bar, a fight occures and you stop that fight, causing damage to the bar, or the destruction of it, however you are still fighting those people and end up chasing them.. If that was wolverine, would he remember who the barmaid was? or would his train of thought be on the attackers? See wolverine would simply forget the barmaid to track down the attackers... But the barmaid isnt going to forget wolverine because he and those attackers destroyed her bar. So what we learn from this is that one persons actions can effect someone they may not realise. and as we know LADY DEATHSTRIKE was being controlled by William Stryker, Wolverine possible doesnt realise who she is or was. And the only time Yuriko regains her memories is when she dies. So there there we go.

Second Ending... Deadpool retreiving his head - Now the way i see it, Marvel wanted Ryan Reynolds, it was just a matter of time and place, or character, time and place. Because of his comical stylings he is perfect for Deadpool and thus a movie soly on him is sure on the horizen. Alot of people were not happy with his powers, because he was simply given a tone of different powers that made him unbelievable as a character. Now im told that in the comics he does have teleportation, now im not truely hundred percent on the character. But one thing we learned by X-Men 3, It suggested that the Cure wasnt perminate so couldnt the reverse be applied, I will pick this up later about adding powers because i think there is another thread there for a future movie. I've only read a few x-men comics with deadpool in them. Ive seen him decapitated and him picking up his head and re-attaching itself. So its all possible. Alot of people didnt like him being weapon xi because it totally ruined his look. Personally i think it was a creative way to scare his body. As you know Deadpool in the comics had cancer, they tried to cure him caused his body to be scared but he had wolverines healing factor which made him still end up the same. So the whole cancer issue is too complex to put into a wolverine movie, because to drive the story through, it just simply wouldnt fit and so making deadpool the ultimate weapon which goes horribly wrong scaring his body making him the way he is sounds reasonable... Now for his powers, as stated before teleporation is apparently one of his powers in the comic, because his body was underneath rubble, it is suggestable that his new adimantium katana blades were ripped out his body and because there were not part of his dna they simply stay removed. His lazer sight, if i remember cyclops dna from the comics the sun powered his brain and the energy was harnest in his nerve system through to his eyes. Decapitating his head in my opinion would sever nerves even if he had wolverines healing factor i figure like wolverine losing his memory, deadpool would simply lose the ability to shoot lazers out of his eyes.

Right with the endings coverd lets move onto POWERS...

I want to state two simple facts about x-men origins: wovlerine that everyone will agree too.
1. stryker was collecting mutant dna so he could combind powers into one mutant. which in the movie was deadpool
2. christian clark was rumoured to play dr.robert windser, and in my oppinion we actually saw him for a brief blury second when wolverine died and stryker said something to one of the doctors that looks strikingly like christian clark with a buzz cut black hair...
Why are these two points important? Look back to how x-men 3 ending with The Cure! We know that fox are interest in retaining the younger x-men that appeared in the x-men trilogy... The reason for this is because they see them as the potential future of x-men and by doing prequel movies it allows the actors/actresses Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore, Aaron Stansford, Daniel Cudmore, Ben Foster and Ellen Page. all these actors will be in the next age bracket, meaning they will be around the same age the actors that played the title characters say Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm...etc in the first movie... Now from Magneto's power return sniff that was at the end of x-men 3, it pondered weather powers could be returned... now we look back at the previous two points i mentioned and then we look at rogue... now alot of people wernt happy with how Rogue was portrayed as just a kid with the power to obsorb mutant powers but figure this, because of x-men origins wolverine, we now have an explination to powers being restored. by time they look towards the future of the x-men movie franchise, Rogue would be in her mid twenties, based on anna paquin as she portrated a 18 year old in x-men 1. so for fans its a Invisable thread to link sinister restoring rogues powers to the future x-men stories.

Moving on... how did cyclops have ruby red glasses? i think there is at least two invisable threads there with questions you need to ask with that question, How did Xavier know how to communicate with a young cyclops, and how did stryker know of cyclops power whilse he was living a low profile life in a normal school. My theory on it is simply this, has Xavier and Stryker meet prior to x-men origins wolverine? - because Stryker had his son in ice. by the age he looked he could be no more than 5 to 6 in age. So i figure that age wise, xavier origin with the later be x-men started way before the ending of x-men origins wolverine. would make sense because of the year he met jean grey. But this can simply be resolved by X-Men First Class.

Next Thread, Creed to Creed... im talking from Liev to Tyler, how should they explain it... alot of people want to gloss over the fact but i think there is a good story telling plot to explain Creeds transformation between the two movies... and i think this should be a factor in the Magneto Prequel, as we know of in X1 he is an associate of Magneto, in origins he retained his memory of wolverine after wolverine got shot... personally if we look at Creeds evolution in the story, we could simply create Magnetos story with some good story plots, I mean the one thing that i couldnt work out in x-men 1 was who created magnetos mutant dna machine... magneto wasnt a scientist, creed? no mystique? she was smart even technology was good on but this was a level of phsyics and science and chemesty at its best. Toad well no i dont think so. Personally if were looking at Magnetos inspiration to evolve humans... i would say The High Evolutionary made that machine that magneto used. And once more with the high evolutionary you have the whole wondagor story, wanda and peitro characters, soo what has this all go to do with creed, well remember creed is a killer. and someone who can be employed to do so, from this we can figure that Creed could of been sent to the high evolutionary that captured him. Creed became an experiment in the high evolutionaries plans to evolve mutants to there potential, thus transfering creed into a more feral secondary mutation with limited mental compasity. Magneto could of rescued him, and gave him a new perpose. So i think creed to creed has a story to be told, and is best utilised in the Magneto origin story. or First Class.

Anyone else see the invisable threads that could fix everything together, i mean there are alot of plot holes but could it just be there so we can have more sequels to explain them.

nice points and worth considering.. wow this thread will indeed be interesting.. i will gather my thoughts and meditate on a few things before i make any replies.. good stuff though!!

I figure not Yuriko but people are making the connections. I just provided a logical reasoning to if that was her, and to explain why she and wolverine dont recognise each other in the following movie.

ok.. lets discuss this Yuriko Wolverine thing... why couldnt the barmaid be her? and mind you not every Asian woman who he comes across is expected to be a potential DeathStrike.. lol but it is a nice cliff hanger..

I like to think of it this way.

If it is Yuriko - then the reason to her appearance in x2 is explained, no-one willing will go through the process, i mean wolverine was conned, deadpool im guessing again was against his will, or was willing but didnt realise what he was getting himself into. This evident from stryker sewing up his mouth. Deathstrike was being controlled by stryker in x2... So i think there is a possiblity to tell the story of Yuriko throw Wolverine 2, and that is her in the bar.

Maybe the story line is along the lines of wovlerine fighting silver samuri gang members in her bar, the bar is trashed and destroyed in the process her father is killed, wolverine is unaware of any of this because his focus is on the silver samuri group and chases them. She seeks revenge and the thought dead silver samuri by the end of the movie transforms Yurko into deathstrike, deathstrike begins her persuit of wolverine discovers his involvement with stryker so they meet and thus the new partnership occures.

The other possibiltiy is that its not her and this is just a segway to Japan being hinted. Which is pretty random, as wolverine does end up in a bar pretty much at the start or end of all movies... x1 fighting in a bar, x2 -drinks a beer in bobby drakes family home , x3 deleted scene returns back to the bar fromthe first movie, wolverine movie - fights creed in a bar, meets gambit in a bar.

wasnt there some emotional ties that Wolverine had with Yuriko? i dont think it was as random as how you detailed.. and funny thing is because of wolverines healing factor he needs to really DRINK ALOT to get any kind of buzz from it lol

In the comics there was emotional ties towards Yuriko and Wolverine had, But the movie universe is not the same as the comic book universe, and i think this is one of those amendable origins they can use to progress the story forward...

The problem is we simply cant just say wolverine meet yuriko had a relationship, something happens then there enemies and somehow wolverine is shot with another adimantium bullet and he has no memory of the entire movie... its too much of a repeat.

The introduction to Yuriko would have to have little effect on Wolverine that he would simply forget her and not recogise the deathstrike transformation...

The best way to do this would be if for example Wolverine is drinking in Yurikos bar that after afight with Harada's henchmen gets wreched however wolverine doesnt really consider what effect that has on Yuriko whose bar was keeping her sick father alive, now with no money no bar... you see what i mean, indirect envolvement is the best story telling option to tell how deathstrike prior to x-men 2.

I would like to think that Japanese-bar-lady here is indeed Deathstrike
It would make my staying 10 mins (?) into the credits worthwhile... =p

I would hope that that ending was a segue-way to Wolverine in Japan, but i think destroying a bar is a little too simple to have a life long fued about lol im sure its more personal than that and killing sumones relative in the process is jus a lil too cliche' no? lol
