I need help learning how to draw comic and cartoon characters. Anyone know any good sites?

Click here for the Fan Art Forum in the Hype boards. I'm sure you'll get WAY more help there than in this part of the Hype.:D:up:

If you want to learn how to draw comic and cartoon characters, don't bother going to a web site. Find a magizine(or a live model if possible) and copy the people you see in there. Do NOT trace. The point of copying is so that you can memorize the human form. The best magezines are fitness magezines. They show a variety of people in a variety of envirnments. After you have the human form memorized, putting the costumes on them will be a piece of cake. I would also advise you to find some sort of diagram clearly showing the human figure from a frontal angle. This will make it much easier to remember how long the limbs should be, where they should end(i.e. the wrist ends at the crotch), and all the other mathematical information that goes into drawing. There were a bunch done during the Rennasaince, so you can probably find them online.
You can check out my thread if you want to see if I know what I'm talking about. It's titled "my artwork"

If you're really intent on learning to draw, don't focas on "drawing comic or cartoon characters". Toons are exaggerated, and altered. It's best to first learn the proper anatomy before bending or exaggerating it. It's a good idea to get references, and constantly draw proportions over and over again. It can be quite tedius, but stick with it.

Practice, practice, practice. Draw as much as you can. Don't expect to be awesome right away. It will take time.

And get books on anatomy. I like Dynamic Figure Drawing by Burne Hogarth.

more like that second picture really, i want more of a modern animation.

To really learn how to draw animation and comics, you must first learn the basics. Drawing figures all the time, every day. Even comic book artists and animators on big time movies do it every day.
Also practice by copying comic art like Spider-Man, and other pictures you like.
Study anatomy, alot.

Good luck.
