Hurray! Another Wolverine ongoing announced!!!

That's good, because for a while, Iron Man was the one appearing 4-10 times a month and I feared Wolverine would just fade into obscurity like NFL Superpro. How thankful that Marvel has not allowed that to happen. Everyone surely can't get enough of Wolverine.

And he has a movie next year and a TV series about to hit NickToons. 2009 will be Wolverine Unlimited. He will be everywhere and everywhere. Even Batman will be jealous.

Oh, well.

So four ongoings, New Avengers, X-Force, Uncanny X-Men, Astonishing X-Men... Am I leaving any out? I feel like I must be.

Wolverine, Wolverine: Origins, Wolverine: First Class, Wolverine: Weapon X.

Plus Uncanny X-Men, Astonishing X-Men, X-Force, New Avengers, and Marvel Adventures: The Avengers, and he's bound to be in a post-Ultimatum Ultimate Marvel title (my guess is New Ultimates).

And don't forget any appearances he shows in outside of the comics he's a regular cast member in.

Isn't there a Weapon X: First Class too now? How's this gonna differ from First Class? lol

This one won't be cancelled due to sales.

Anyway, as stupid as it is to have four Wolverine ongoings (plus dozens of guest appearances every month), Wolverine + Aaron + Garney = epic win.

If you guys had to take away a Wolverine tittle (be it a team one or solo) which would it be?

I would probabley take him out of the Avengers

I'd leave him in the Avengers, I'd just cut down his solos...this **** can all be told in one fricking solo. Just rotate writers and artists like they are doing with Spidey right now if they want to tell this many Wolverine stories. There's no reason for any character to have four solos. No reason.

hey, can anyone point me towards some quintessential wolverine stories? ive never quite gotten the hype surrounding this foo'. :o

Barry Windsor-Smith's Weapon X story from Marvel Comics Presents is probably the best Wolverine-related thing I've read. But no Wolverine story is going to convince you he's a great character if you don't already like him, in my opinion. He's a gruff short guy who stabs people and never dies. That's pretty much the quintessential Wolverine right there, take him or leave him.

If your not a fan of Wolverine you should stay away from X-Force aka Team Stab, Team Claws, Stabby McStab Stab, Stab Force, Bub yer Stabbed, I'm the Best their is at Stabbin, ect

Miller's 4 issue mini also. And I would go with Claremont's X-Men run, especially #133 of Uncanny.

Yes, I too hate all the action in comics, why can't we just have one monthly Wolverine title, where he sits down and drinks a beer and watches the news on tv or makes himself dinner.

Ye too bad he can't just sit infront of his computer and post 13,000+ messages to a website that would be a great tv show, Wolverine vs The Internet, you know "Dread" if that is your real name, you are The Wolverine of this board, your post are everywhere for one, I mean don't you have anything else going on in your life, like a wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, family, I'm sure you have a job, any other hobbies aside from comics. Here take me for example, I love comics and have for nearly 20 years, but I have time to get married, have two kids, I'm a Network-admin for a major worldwide corp. I mean come on guy, let's try cutting down to 1 or 2 postings a week, get out live life, have fun. Today, I want you to go to a new years party, meet a girl or a guy and get laid.

Someone's trying to make friends.

Personally, I don't buy most of Wolverine's titles, so it doesn't bother me much.

Wolverine: First Class is great because it's fun. The rest of Wolverine's titles are all stabby/broody, which bores me. I may look at this upcoming series for Aaron and Garney, though. "Get Mystique!" was pretty fun, if ultimately pointless.

No, Corp, that's what Wolverine's BECOME thanks to creators with that mindset. Fer real Wolvie action I'd check out everythin' from Giant-Size X-Men #1-Wolverine #114. After that it really goes to crap.

As fer Weapon X: First Class, the book is a 3-issue mini, and the dude did want the book to be named something else. That's what Marvel wanted.

That said, I think another Wolvie book is nuts. That's severe overkill just 'cause of the movie next year. Ya got the main book which is marginal at best, First Class which is fun, Origins which has been crap since #1, and a boat load of one-shots while mostly good coulda been done in the main friggin' book. Someone get Marvel a ShamWOW! 'cause they're bringin' back character oversaturation 10 fold.

I wonder what they've got planned for the main book after Millar's fantasy tour of a future that doesn't matter is done. Why couldn't another Aaron/Garney run have just gone there?

Man, thank god they're not saturating Spider-man this bad. They need to just keep Wolverine, First Class, and have him make casual appearances in the X-books. That's it. No Avengers, No X-Force, no crappy Origins, nothing else. An occasional one shot would be fine too.

You mean "not anymore". Spidey, Wolverine, Bats, and Superman have all been book ****es at one time or another...

I'd get rid of Wolverine: Origins and have Wolverine: Weapon X simply go into the main Wolverine ongoing once Millar and McNiven are done. Wolverine: First Class must stay though, it's just plain ol' fun.

I also think that Wolverine needs to leave the Avengers. His being on the Avengers and X-Men makes no sense at all. The Avengers are based in New York City while the X-Men are based across the other side of the country in San Fransisco. How does he make it on every one of their adventures? I mean they show Flash struggling on being in two teams at once in Justice League Elite, yet Wolverine is conveniently able to do this? Also the X-Men are trying to be a somewhat legitimate team in the eyes of the public and government and Wolverine being on the illegal Avengers team goes against that.

Just keep his main ongoing, Wolverine: First Class, and keep him on the X-Men and X-Force teams.
