Everyone has varying degrees of education when it comes to art. And everyone has things they struggle rendering, whether its shading, perspective, textures or even boobs. I struggle with boobs.

And everyone use's different tools and different tricks they like to do with them. What do you use to ink? Brush's or pens? Or do you do it digitally? What programs do you like?

I thought it would be nice if we had a forum where everyone to give tips and ask questions. What are some of your tricks of the trade?

Basically this could be our workshop, where we teach and train one another, while being supportive of each others work.

If no one is interested then the thread can die. If not then I'll ask the first question.

Does anyone have tips on how to do foreshortening, especially when it comes to foreshortening legs?

I'll post some examples of how I've been doing it later on. I also plan on posting some tricks I have for doing hands.

this sonds like really good forum, tips would be great.:)

I like this thread.

Youtube has many great tutorials for just about everything if you're a visual learner like I am.

I've been trying to get a better grasp at hands lately. Drawing a super hero with to knuckle sandwiches wound up ready to **** up stilt-man are one thing, But drawing hands in any kind of dynamic pose can be like drawing the full human figure all over again.

Especially since I'm pretty much a self taught artiest I never really payed much attention to hands (and feet for that matter). I was always interested and drawing the body and face, and I didn't want to be slowed down by fingers and toes.

Recently though I decided I should learn to finally draw hands. And this is what I've been doing.

I searched online and found the sign language alphabet and started copying it. Here is my first attempt. And at the bottom is the body I use as the base of the hands.

I like the hands BillPardy; they're a lot of people's nightmare when they draw people. I've had friends tell me they draw fists only because they feel like they draw fingers like bread sticks.

I say keep trying to copy how you see hands til you've got a style that you like and want to stick with.

I've been going for a Frank Miller/Bruce Timm look when it comes to hands. I've always noticed that Miller draws gorilla sized hands (regardless of sex sometimes). And that I've adopted Timm's finger shape to avoid the bread sticks.

Someone whose hands I've always admired though is Akira Toriyama (creator of Dragon Ball).
