She was an old friend, so there really wasn't any "getting to know" one another, because we had been such good friends for 10 years. She had come out of a long term realtionship as well, so we just fell into each others arms.

That is so awesome. You have no idea how many times I've heard something along those lines.

I see him more than most Dad's get their kids, but I wish I had him all the time. I get him 3 out 4 weekends, a week at March break, a week at X-mas, and 5 weeks during the summer.

The bad part is that I have to drive 100 miles to get him, then drive 100 miles back. And less than 48 hours later, I have to drive 100 miles to return him home, then drive 100 miles to get back to my house. It's extremely tiresome... but I do it because I love him so.

Wow, you do see him more than most dads.

He'll be turning 8 in October.
