I found an iPod!!

I know enough about iPods that I know that you can plug it into iTunes and it will say who's it is at least their first name but it will also give you some sort of serial number where one could assume, they could call apple or the iTunes store and track down the person who's iPod that was.

Wow, So if you found a sports car with the keys still in it, would you drive off with it?

If you found someone's cell phone, would you attempt to return it to the owner?

Wow, a 120 GB iPod is only $249? I think I bought a 20 GB for like $399 a few years ago.

Or someone's wallet? Or someone's anything?

Just because you find something, doesn't mean you can keep it. You have to go about the steps to try and give it back, if you try, then fail at it, it's ok to keep it.

If I saw a cell phone on the ground, I'd say to myself "someone lost their phone" and continue on with what I'm doing. I wouldn't even bother with the phone

I don't consider it theft when due to my mishandling of an item, it leaves my possession and another person comes along and decides to keep it.

Put yourself in the rightful owners position and tell me what you'd want the person who found your Ipod to do.

It's not like finding money or some bit of junk. Ipod's have serial numbers...you CAN find the person it belongs to.

That fact, plus it's the holidays, is more than enough reason to return it.

Plus in the end, couldn't the owner just as easily trace it and find that you took it should you try to link it to Itunes?

So basically you found it, but you can't use it the proper way because that leaves you open to be discovered. Of course you could always constantly change your IP address and things like that...and make life a big hassle just to keep something that's not even yours.

And seriously...an Ipod isn't worth that much trouble.

Just give it back.

I couldn't read the rest of your post when I got to the line about the holidays because I was too busy laughing

So, if you lose a wallet, you don't care if someone uses your credit cards?

I was walking to work today and as I'm about to cross the street I see something on the ground. When I went to take a closer look I see that it looks like an iPod. At first I thought it was just a case cover but I picked it up anyway and when i pressed a button, holy crap the screen lights up. I quickly put it in my pocket and kept on walking. So now i'm at work going through the playlists which nicely enough has alot of rap songs I like. Although, there are some questionable Justin Timberlake and Katy Perry songs.

but what a great way to start the day to whats gonna be a ****** work day. Anyway, the battery on this is really low, can anyone tell me what accessories I need to get?

You damn criminal, take it to the police..........:woot:
