I tried out using a more realistic style based on my fan art entry. I think it came out alright.

Wow, that looks fantastic. Quite the update. The style in which it's painted is fantastic. It'd odd though, how you went from so much outlining to none. The piece might look better with a bit of outlining, around the characters, whether it's the solid black you were previously using, or a dark shade of the color you're outlining.

Hmm, that black outline sounds like a good plan. There is an artist ive seen recently who digitally paints very realistically but gives it a black outline and it looks amazing, so I may try it.

Updates! Hoorah, it's about time. These are my latest endeavours using digital colouring. I just scanned in some pen drawings and coloured them in.

Obviously your "Dead" art thread is very much alive!! great update! your continued improvement is really impressive, i especially love the second one: it looks like it could be a still from a proper anime! the foreshortening at that angle is really hard, you've done a cracking job.

Well, I started thinking about ideas for the cartoon hero contest, and I doodled Rogue, but now I've scanned it my foolish computer has cut the edges off!

And then what started out as 'I think Ill try drawing the 'Red Dwarf' characters for the TV theme of the contest soon turned into 'Hmm, Ill try amking myself a desktop wallpaper out of this'. Unfortunatly the edge of the page, where the 'Cat' character is standing didn't look right, so I cut it off when I scanned it.
