Why does the threadmaker think that every Mod and Admin should make an announcement?

With regards to age, it is but a number that doesn't necessarily measure a person's intelligence or level of maturity.

There are certain comments that are given in annoucements that are reminiscent of those i would receive in primary school

be nice to your fellow hypsters
no rude language
no posting of illegal stuff
no nudity

it's very rarely we get a message informing and encouraging community spirit rather than trying to limit damage limitation.

I agree with you to certain extent. An announcement encouraging community spirit would certainly be a good thing. However, from time to time we find it necessary to make the "NO _______" announcements as a reminder of what we deem as appropriate conduct for a site that's rated PG-13. We wish we don't have to do it because we expect posters to "know better", but as it turns out some clearly don't, unfortunately.

I would like to thank you for sharing your thought and I really think you made a very good point about making "positive" announcements. I would seriously consider that. Grazie.

true but even some of the 'No____' comments are hard probably due to the inability to get tone.

leaked footage has been used all the time in avatars but only the gif and picture threads get watched. I think there have been some turn around in this but i do remember my first glimpses of two-face and the joker coming from avatars, not to mention the hulk's cgi shots last year.

With regard to language and tone, the hype has always been above a PG-13 level, it's almost as if a writer is wants to make a story about rape and violence and limit its audience range to 12. It is what it is and language and tone and decency are all relative to those involved in conversations where some issues are tolerated in some topics while in others it isn't.

While i understand the hype shouldn't allow any activity that would lead it to be liable to doing any damage, you'll probably find the average hyper is already damage prone and perhaps micromanagement may not be the way forward.

which is why reiterating what we do wrong all the time instead of what we actually do right may not be the way to go. In taking the focus off the bad and providing a glimpse of where you'd like us to be, you'll find attitudes toward moderating changing.

You'll probably find there is less of a boundary between posters from before and after they became moderators.

i agree with the avy though , but the only good thing was i was pleasantly suprised to find out two-face looked better in the movie than some of the tacky manips i saw.
