Ok, last night I went out and I was replacing my computer since my old one was crappy and punked out on me. While I was at Best Buy, I figured, heck everyone else is in debt...why not me, and used my Best Buy card to buy a 60 gig 360 and GH: WT.

I also bought two 1600 point cards. I will be hooking everything else up tonight.

What are some of the better games for the system? Note though, I'm not much of a FPS fan, so other suggestions would be helpful.

Also what is my best bet to buy on the XBLA that stays within the 3200 point constraint. Thanks.

Xbox Games - These are a few I really enjoy.

Gears of War 2 (View-3rd Person)
Fable 2 (View-3rd Person)
Fallout 3 (View-FPS,3rd Person)
GTA IV (View-All sorts)
Mass Effect (View-3rd Person)
Assassin's Creed (View-3rd Person)
Marvel Ultimate Alliance (View-Aerial)

Arcade Games - Totally up to your preference they have alot of classic card games and some great old game redone in HD graphics. When you get it all set up just scroll over left and you should be in the marketplace, they will have all of the greatest hits and the prices you can usually find some good deals when you look around.

Definately get Mass Effect.

For Live Arcade:

Portal: Still Alive (FPS but not really. Watch the vid)

N+
Braid
Banjo-Kazooie (when it comes out)
Castlevania: SOTN
Penny Arcade Episode 1 (if you like it, Episode 2 will be out soon)
Rez HD
Ikaruga
Bionic Commando: Rearmed
Alien Hominid
Castle Crashers

Mass Effect is high on my get list, since I love hardcore sci fi stories like that.

Crackdown looked interesting, as does Fable II.

On XBLA I was looking at the TMNT Arcade game (For nostalgia reasons) and Castle Crashers. Galaga Legions and Pac-Man looked great too. Psychonauts is a no brainer.

The XBLA was one of the things that finally talked me into getting a 360....and it seems like it's going to be expensive for me. :(

Well, what sort of games do you like?

As for the arcade, 3200 points is a lot to work with, but I'll give it a shot...

Castle Crashers
Braid
Rez HD
If you haven't played Portal yet, then you should get Portal: Still Alive

Portal looks very interesting, and I might pick that up.

I wish SFIIHDR was out. :(

I just got the 360 three weeks ago. I got Halo 3 and Mass Effect. Mass Effect is probably the best RPG I've played since FF7.

I want to play also Fable 2, and Dead Space.

Brainiac, you got some great suggestions already, but let me tell you my favorite games for the 360:

The Orange Box (this is a must get, even if you're not into FPS, it's one of the best games ever)
Bioshock
Crackdown (much better than GTA4)
Dead Rising

Also, for XBLA, get:
Streets of Rage 2
Castle Crashers
Alien Hominid
Bionic Commando

Add me! BlasLee

I'll add you as soon as I'm online with it Blas.

I so want Bionic Commando Rearmed. :)
Blas, check the Conduit thread. :cmad:

Oh yeah Crackdown is great, and so is Castle Crashers but that will cost you about 1800 in the XBLA (I think). I purchased the TMNT game also for nostalgia reasons and MK3. Dead Rising was good for a non FPS zombie game, however Left 4 Dead looks like it could be great for friends to get together and kill alot of crap.

Go ahead and add me too! - ExcalibuR3921

Working on killing some people right now on the COD WaW beta. :woot:

How is it?? :wow:
I'm very excited about it...I know it's a Treyarch game and all, but they had a lot more time this time around, and killing Nazi Zombies sounds too cool.

Are they Nazi Zombies...or Zombie nazis? Hmm...

I mean, which came first...the Zombie or the Nazi. Did he become a Zombie, then join the Nazi regime...or did he join the Nazis and then become a Zombie?

I wish they would explain it to us. :(

lol, it's great, especially when you get 7 kills now you have the ability to release german shepards on the enemy, and no not old men in laderhosen(spelling?) but the dogs. And in single player the fire propagates and that is just cool. Also had to throw this in there Fable 2 is great but I think I am having more fun in Fallout 3 due to more time consuming game play.

Portal Still Alive is out?! Cool might have to get some points and pick that up. Loved the first Portal in the Orange Box.

Orange Box.

My X Box is hopefully getting shipped back to me on the 3rd so add me! Gojira_Tokusatsu

For XBOX Arcade, among other already-mentioned titles, I'd strongly suggest "Marble Blast Ultra" :)

I approve this message.

I'd also add Alan Wake (if it ever comes out) and GTA 4 because of the swing set

Still alive is basically Portal with some non-story maps added on in the end. so if you want to just play for the puzzles i would suggest getting it but as far as a narritive its nonexistant.

Crackdown is awesome. If you get really into it, you finish it quick. However, you can "restart" the campaign so all the enemies are back. It's also fun to just run around and do ****. Considering you'll be able to get it for cheap used, you'll get more than your money's worth.
