Tom is an average teenager whose world is turned on its head when a violent encounter with local thugs leaves fragments of his shattered smartphone embedded in his brain. He wakes from a coma to discover that returning to normal teenage life is impossible because he has developed a strange set of superpowers. With these new powers he sets out to seek revenge on the gang, who also assaulted his best friend Lucy.

iBoy is a Netflix original film starring Bill Milner, Maisie Williams, Miranda Richardson and Rory Kinnear and is available on Netflix globally from January 27th, 2017.

Just saw the trailer. Looks fricking awesome. Will see.

It looks so bad. Wouldn't even consider watching it if not for Maisie.

Looks like a mixed bag, I will watch it for Rory, he's paid for all our sins in full.

It can great, but the premise sounds laughable.

> Boy gets superpower by having pieces of his smartphone embedded in his brain

?!?!?!? WTF !?!?!?!?!?!?

Can he play angry birds and search the web at the same time?

I don't find how he gets his powers any more dumb then some of the Marvel/DC superheroes so whatever on that front.

Looks interesting though, so I'll try watching.

Totally. One of my favourite parts of a superhero origin story is the generally silly way they get their powers.

Sad they didn't recreate this...

sounds like a teen version of the series "intelligence "

I watched it and thought it was alright. Nothing particularly original about it. The Housing estate they filmed on looks like the same one from the TV show Marcella.

The movie reminded me of the film Montana at some points.

I didn't know it was based on a book.

Patsy Palmer's son was born to play villains. Rory Kinnear is great at playing villains. His role in this didn't quite reach his Waking The Dead level of evil but it came close.
