Ironic isn't it. Me, the one who had IDIOT under his name making a thread about this movie...

Well I'm watching it on Youtube since I was bored and saw some clips of it and got interested... If it's good I'll buy it.

It's an interesting film. *scratches head* I'm interested in opinions on this one because I'm having difficulty framing everything in my mind about it. What scares me the most about it is that parts of the future dumbed down society really just reflect life now.

Well I highly recommend it, just to give my little endorsement to a film that I've read was pre-maturely down played by Fox to stop it from being seen by the majority...

One of my best comedies of the decade.

Watch it with a group of friends while baked. You will laugh till you cry.

It gets better each time you watch it. The first time my friend watched it he had a luke warm response. Now it's one of his favorite movies. We quote the movie all the time.

It's not just fart/dick jokes. It's also clever, subversive satire and social commentary. Highly recommended.

I thought it was great. Low budget, and a lot of the humour is gross out, but an important film. I remember Bill Maher saying that Fox's marketing department did surveys that showed the American public was too stupid to get the jokes in a movie about the American public being stupid. They should have released this in cinemas. It was a terrible disservice to bury this film. As well as a comedy it is also a horror film, I overhear so many conversations that sound exactly like a scene from Idiocracy that it's terrifying.

I'm not sure if it's sad or what, but I'd probably watch that too, if there was a show like that. t:

The "Ass" movie was pretty funny as well.

VERY good movie, loved every second of it (Idiocracy, I mean, not just "Ass.").

Saw the film on Youtube. It's a ok little flick. Gonna get it tomorrow as a gift on dvd.

Unsure of how to market the film after disastrous test screenings, Fox sat on the near-completed film for over a year, before finally giving it an unusually small release in only 6 minor markets (skipping over major markets such as New York City). The release was done with little to no marketing- there weren't even posters made for the release.

Ok...I think...with some marketing push, the film would have done better in theaters. And yes, it did go to theaters.

Point is, Fox cancels a lot of their shows and gives this film no chance. Proving that Fox is run by a bunch of idiots. Case in put, the PG-13 rating for AVP and the new Die Hard film.

Yeah I'm glad I found it on the tube. It'd definitely one of those films that would have gotten people talking for a while afterwards. shame on fox.

[Downhere]

The first half of this movie was fantastic, but the second half was beyond reason. For me it's half a work of genius (first half) and half a piece of crap (second half). But then again I heard Fox cut the heck out of it, so maybe if it was done the way it should have been it would have been better.
