If Blade doesn't last past season one...

Stick's performance isn't the problem, it's the way Blade is being written. They've removed all the personality he had in the movies, turning him into a witless, boring little cipher. The writers can be blamed if the series fails to continue.

^MJW auditioned for Blade. In the end, it came down to him and Sticky, and Sticky was chosen.

I hadn't heard this. Do you have a link or a site address about this? MJW was actually the first name that came to mind when Goyer was casting Blade but I doubted he would want the part. He would have been a better choice but I'm happy w/ Sticky.

I had read that over at the Blade:Trinity forums some time ago, I can no longer find the exact post.

I had heard the rumor but I thought it was wishful thinking. I never found anything substantial. I've always thought he was an underrated actor.

MJW would have been an excellent choice. Both he and Sticky are questionable actors, but MJW brings intangibles to the table that Sticky doesn't have, and won't have for awhile.

I thought he gave a great performance in Spawn but I know I'm in the minority there.

I don't see any reason why Blade wouldn't get picked for a second year. The storylines are getting a lot better even though 95"% of it has nothing to do with Blade.

Goyer said at Comic-Con that the show costs $2 million an episode. That's a pretty good reason to can it if the ratings aren't providing ample justifcation to the contrary.

I agree. White didn't impress me at all in Spawn or in the Universal Soldier movie...with his acting talent. Though he did a much better job as a heavy in the movie Pandora's Box.

That performance, combined with his voice, physical presence and martial arts skills definitely made him a better choice to be Blade. I think his credentials and his ability would've helped him sell the new Blade much better than Sticky has been able to do so far.

2 million an episode!

IGN seems to like the series, everytime I read a review on a Blade episode they seem to love it.

Yeah plus the fact that Snipes was pretty adamant on the movie's set. He would make last minute changes and say things like "No! Blade wouldn't say it like this...he'd say it this way!" He would stand his ground and it would work out being right on camera. I can't see Sticky fighting with the writers like Snipes....

And i bet $900, 000 of that is going in Jill pocket. I bet she's being paid more or equally as much as Sticky.....

I just have to wonder... if this show costs 2 mil an episode, how much did the average episode of Buffy or Angel cost? 'cause those shows had LOTS more action and special effects, not to mention a larger cast.
