Probably the Archduke Ferdinand, since his assassination started World War I, and that event probably was one we could have done without, for many reasons. Another I'd pick would be Alexander II, a former Czar of Russia. He was killed outside his stage coach by a bomb, and his death led to the suppression of civil liberties in Russia. Many historians say if he had not died Russia would not have become communist, and would've instead adopted Democracy and the world would've avoided the Cold War as a result.

Ummmm...Lyndon Baines Johnson was a very left leaning Democrat who passed a series of the most liberal reforms this country has ever seen in the Great Society. He's responsible for a Voting Right's Act, expanding social programs, several Welfare reforms, the Civil Right's Act...it's laughable that you would even think anything he did or believed was in line with Bush or Nixon.
