No, nor am i going to.
And no, it's not depression, at least not the "stay in bed and cry" type.
In fact, no one that talks with me can get to this conclusion, i'm a very cool guy, and i wear a hell of a wonderful mask of "normality".

I laugh, i cry, i care for others (honestly), i like to watch movies and play video games...i just don't care enough to have a proper life.
For example, when i worked, i had a bunch of friends, people really liked me...but every time they set up something, like a dinner, i wouldn't go....ever.
It's like i'm paying a penance for something i don't know...

And even among all of this, i'm a normal guy, i don't drink or use drugs to try to feel something, i never tried to kill myself (the day i try is the day i die)...just don't have a normal life, or a life for that matter.
I'm just waiting to die...the idea doesn't scare me....at all.

That's ****ed up.

Isildur´s Heir, you sound like what the Japanese call a hikikomori, a shut-in who withdraws completely from society. Are you not at all curious as to why you'd be this way?

In the meantime... Maybe you should consider a job for at least your Mom's sake. I know laziness and depression can go hand and had, but maybe to get out of the funk you could consider the added financial responsibility and stress on her.

I don't think laziness causes depression.

Depressed people appear lazy but they're not really being lazy. Laziness is a choice.

i think depression can cause an apathy that makes people not want to do anything, which can be misconstrued as laziness

But how can you tell the difference between actual laziness and depression?

Yeah I think one can result from the other. A lazy person spiraling into more laziness will end many of their motivations and aspirations in life. The end result being depression. Conversely a depressed person may start feeling that everything in life is pointless, and the apathy turns to doing less and less.

Durkheim theorized that weak social ties make a person more susceptible to suicidal outcomes. A person can either be left out by society, or they can diminish their own self worth and take themselves out of society. Going out with a friend just for a couple hours can greatly improve the psyche for an entire day creating a more positive outlook. I guess bottomline, don't stay a hermit unless you live on Tatooine ;)
