Darthphere Presents: Geeks with Hammers, the Home and Garden thread.

Just cleaned my fridge shelving and inside with disinfectant and the drip tray at the rear etc. Feeling accomplished.

i finally have a yard of my own. a pretty decent one at that.

starting from scratch, what are some must-have tools to have in my shed for yard/gardening? i do have a lawnmower.

Leaf blower, hedge trimmer, wheelbarrow, shovel, rake, drop spreader, and probably a garden hand tool set.

pretty sure i have a wheel barrow and leaf blower in my shed that my uncle left me. weather is supposed to finally be nice tomorrow so i'll check it out. been pretty windy and rainy here the last week or so. when the weather was decent-ish, i was working :argh:

My hot neighbor has yet to ask me for any assistance regarding lawn or house maintenance

I simply stalk mine when he's shirtless. Wait.

so far i have:

leaf blower
lawn mower
water hose
extension cord
shovel
gloves
weed and grass killer.
will know by weeks end if the wheelbarrow is mine lol

i spent yesterday afternoon pulling out old bushes on one side of my house. some were dead and came right up. others were not and some were darn difficult. a few even have other stuff growing up in between them. a particularly stubborn azalea bush has the upper hand on me so far. i borrowed my dads clippers and trimmed the bush down to see better while i tried to uproot it, but the root is massive. it literally broke my shovel in half when i tried to get leverage. it was a wooden one that obviously had been left in the rain by someone a long time, so the handle was probably weaker, but still. :argh: i ordered a fiberglass one for pickup at Home Depot. maybe i'll go get it tomorrow.

also, while doing this, there were 2 skinks on the wall watching me. bother at least 3-4 inches long. i don't like lizards
