I want to hear frm the other people who did not like X2 and have seen Superman. How does it rate? I have low expectations and was curious to see how it stacke dup to X2 and if it was full of the same stupid type plot holes and crappy action.

Should I catch it in the theater or wait for DVD?

Non-spoiler threads kinda lose steam once the movies out.

Watch it in the theaters.......Any Superman movie is worth seeing in the theaters.

If you disliked X2, you must be blind and a Jerry's kid. I'm sorry.:O

Aww.. well, you should have looked at the screen, and not have worn those soundproof :) earplugs

LOL, I actually disliked X2 (the X-men films in general are actually overrated, in my opinion) but I liked SR more. It was more lyrical and more my taste, I guess. And I will always cry over what could have been with the Storm character, in all honesty.

The only comic book movie I become a giggling fangirl over is BB, hands down. It's actually pretty embarassing how bad the fangirlness is with me. :o

I think all 3 of his films, X-MEN, X2 and SUPERMAN RETURNS are kinda alike. Not a ton of action, lots of story and themes going on.

Oh, Anita....don't worry.....BATMAN BEGINS turns me into a giggling fangirl too......and I'm a guy. That movie owns my very soul.

I agree that the X-films aren't "X"ceptional, but after watching X-3 the first two are OSCAR WORTHY EPICS!:wolverine

I loved it....I didn't felt in anyway being ripped off. I came from it saying that is a great return.

Didn't like X-2, and was very dissapointed with Superman Returns. The plane sequence was amazing, but that was it for me. Everything envolving Lex was just uninspiring and totally mediocre at best.

I think Singer's super hero films are highly overrated. His stories tend to be bland and his action scenes range from 'ok' to 'meh'. That's just my opinion of course.

I'd catch it in the theater first; I'd rather go in and know if I dislike the film first before wasting money on a DVD only to learn you don't like it and have it end up sitting around for posterity. As for plotholes, this is a superhero film- to keep the audience's attention, things have to be moved around and introduced, so the flow of the film may be stifled. There are parts that reminded me of X2 in that I didn't really approve of where the plot was going with Lex's diabolical scheme and the introduction of the mighty tyke (non-spoiler forums, being intentionally vague here), but the majority of the film is a good tribute to the legacy Reeve left behind. The action is good, though the powers he exhibits are somewhat lackluster for a Supes that has seemingly Pre-Crisis powers and the solution to the film's final issue caused by Lex is zany in how it works it's logic. All in all, though, it's definitely one of the best films to see this summer if not one of the better superhero films made in this oversaturated market. Bar none.

I didn't really like x3 too much but after seeing superman suddenly i like it better.

Yeah, even if it's just for the opening credits, which are so awesome. :)

I'm not a big fan of X2, but Superman Returns is crap. The most boring two and a half hours of my life
