I'm confused-why are at least two members of Omega Flight Americans?

First off I'm most likely the biggest Alpha Flight fan on this board, and to me it's not a big deal. Alpha Flight has always had members from around the world, China, Japan, England, Paradise (Northern Gods Home), Realm of the Beasts (Tanaraq-Sasquatch), Atlantis/alien, etc. Also Beta Ray Bill's human form Simon Walters has been revealed to have connections to Canada revealed in an interview after Stormbreaker but was cut out for time-constraints. Also rumor is, it was Talisman the Spirit-Binder who brought Bill back in Stormbreaker.

Oddly, your right

Hey jerk we gave you Celion Dion and Howie Mandell...*thinks about it* Damn it! We do suck :(

don't forget canada ALSO gave us wrestlers cris jericho, chris benoit and the beautiful TRISH STRATUS

Why not? I try to forget everything wrestling-related if I can help it. :o

Even though Alpha Flight main goal was to protect Canada, they did so much more in just Alpha Flight #3 they saved the world, Shaman saved all of reality from Carcass, the team stops magical being after magical being, and travel through multiple dimensions, travel in space, stoped a nuclear war breaking out between US and Russia, etc.... Even jumping from dimension from dimension for 3 months.

Alpha Flight is Canadian, but they don't just look after Canadian problems. That's why I have no problem with Americans on the team.

Cute, Le Justice League. Superman, Batman, Catwoman (with a little Black Canary), Green Lantern, Green Arrow, the Question, Flash, and STRIPE (perhaps).

Somebody (TheCorpuLent1) has definitely missed the point of my query. It's one thing for the (new) X-Men to have Germans (Nightcrawler), Russians (Colossus), Canadians (Wolverine of course) and other diverse nationalities besides Americans- they are supposed to represent the universality of mutantkind, just as the Avengers and the Fantastic Four are supposed to be a the service of humanity at large and NOT just the good ol' US of A(I'm being sarcastic here)- Alpha Flight by definition is supposed to Canada's own team of heroes just as Big Hero 6 is Japanese, the Winter Guard Russian, and the Eurostars- well European. Just what is USAgent supposed to signify-that Canadians are so lame and "wuusy" that they can't even have their own superheroes with American imput?

Please clarify!
Terry

Sigh.
I'm not in it but I would like to comment:

If it is said that Omega Flight is Canadian only,.. it would be a first in Marvel to insist on a "National" Superteam.

National Superheroes,..?? Got tons's in Marvel,... Everybody has a variation on Captain America.

But the mutant teams sport Humans and magic-powered team-mates,..

the FF, Defenders and Avengers have been multinational,.. multihumanoids,.. heck they even had a toaster, (she was hawt!) and a synthetic man on the roster at the same time.

Alpha flight was liked by me mostly because they were a less anal,.. more trying to do the rite thing sort of team.

Not as much drama as the xmen,.. not as much running in place getting nowhere like the Avengers,.. not as much family first then we save the planet like the FF,..

Easy to relate to because they were always written like they were trying to "catch-up" to the other super teams,.. but kept getting sidetracked.

Like usual,.. all I want is a good story,.. so - so art,. and for folk to stay in character.

Beta-ray better remain the smart alien with the power of Thor,... Walter better stay the Brain in orange fur,..Tailsman better step up to the plate and follow her dads footsteps,....

U get what I mean,....

I'm Canadian, and I can say firstly, Michael Pointer was at least designed to be from Alaska, retcons do not float well with me on this sort of BS.

Next, Beta Ray Bill is an alien, and is a good representation of a immigrant to Canada.

US Agent... Errrr...

Arachne, draft dodger anyone? Canada has been a haven for them you know.

Sasquatch and Tailsman. Only one of them is good, and its not the latter.

Anyway, the overall lineup is both interesting and lacking at the same time. I'm displeased over Pointer, Agent, and Tailsman, though satisfied with Sas, Arachne and Bill.

So, its 'wait and see with pecimism' for me.

I refer of course to John Walker( the USAgent) and Julia Carpenter( Arachne).
According to Marvel Showcase, Julia is apparently going to officially become a Canadian( and or renounce her American citizenship- why may be no biggie for her but I can scarcely imagine the USAgent doing the same); is this becuase she refuses to accept the SHRA?

And there's Beta Ray Bill who of course is an alien but how the(expletive deleted) does he fit in with Omega Flight- the old Alpha Flight had at least one immortal -Snowbird( just as the Defenders and the Winter Guard each had at least one- the Valkyrie and Perun respectively). Is Canada so deficient in native superhumans that it has to accept not just expatriate Americans but even aliens?

Terry
Bill lost his Cyborg Body in Storm breaker, Bill's new host body is human, Simon Walters, if you missed Stormbreaker.
Simon Walters is from the streets of NYC as far as we know. There could be a slim chance Simon is from Canda.

right click, go to properties like if you were posting a pic, take the url, put it in a new windows address bar and then you should be able to see it.

Is this like the whole, Beast and Wolverine cant be Avengers because they were X-Men first type argument?

I guess, even though I don't agree with it. Seems logical there would eventually be Americans on the team.
