PWR has already stated that there isn't a firebird effect at all in the film. The Phoenix effect is apparently represented with black eyes and some sort of zombie makeup.

However, they went more for a scary badass Phoenix instead.. she was black anf looked like a ghost kinda being.. and really freaky!! Her confrontation with Prof X was just chilling!

but he shows up for about 5 seconds to save his dad... then flies off into the sunset!

No, u do not see Rogue take the cure.. you only see her touching Bobby and telling him that she is cured..

Obiviously this is a cheap scene to film, so of course they could have filmed a different version with her not taking the cure and touching bobby with her gloves on..

Another scene that changed from the trailer to movie..
In the trailer, Wolverine tells Bobby "this is a war, we might not all come back, she might not come back" in reference to Kitty...

So this implies that Bobby wants to go and Wolvie does not want him to... but in the movie this was completely re-shot... to it being Bobby NOT wanting to go because there is only 6 of them, but then Wolvie gives an inspirational speech of WE ARE THE X MEN... so Bobby agrees to go!
