The Dark Knight I'm losing faith in Nolan

And honestly, not having complete faith in Nolan isn't idoicy at all. Now making a thread about it and saying nothing more than "I'm losing faith in Nolan"... :o

Indeed it is. I don't have complete faith but I don't make a thread about it. I rarely make threads period. In the 3 years I've been here, I only have 144 threads still exsisting. Most of which have died before 10 posts or are news threads.

Yes, massa. :(

That's a good newbie.

I won't say anything about Heath Ledger as the Joker until I see the movie. I said Brandon Routh looks like crap in the pictures released. I had a slap my in face when I saw Superman Returns.

So, did you like Brandon/SR or not?

Trust Nolan, he won't miss the shot.

I only have 79 in 2 years. And every single one? Golden.

Nolan's got a bit of an ego like every director...I'm a huge fan...but, he said he filmed everything he wanted to for BB's...I'm just having a hard time with that...I don't know how directors think sometimes...as if they didn't use more than one take and cut anything from the movie...its just not true.
I don't see the problem with this. Some directors pre-plan everything perfectly so they do not waste shots. Alfred Hitchcock's scripts and storyboards were planned perfectly, right down to an impeccable sense of timing. He didn't believe that films were made in the editing room, like say...Stanley Kubrick. Some director's are like this. They are meticulous and they often don't shoot more than they need.

And regardless, even if they did take many shots, why would you need to see alternate takes in a special section? They're often not that great or all that different since the best takes are usually used in the film itself.

What´s with all the praise to Nolan?

Christopher Nolan is an amazing director, one of the best to direct a comic book movie, and he would have a even better movie, if not for the crappy script by the ridiculous overrated, that doesn´t deserve half the kudos is given to him, David S. Goyer.

But, for the real, what´s with the all praising?

No, Marvel did, when they started to make comic book movies to the point of being a genre (it´s not, but i bet it will someday).

Batman Begins is not even close to the masterpiece everyone seems to think so.....what´s with all the praise?

Faith:The assured expectations of things hoped for. The evident demonstration of realitites though not yet beheld.

'Memento' was an Amazing film to me and it does hold up quite well after various showing in spite of what anyone says. I saw it back to back 3 times in a row. Alfred Hitchock Lives.

I didn't see 'Insominia' so I can't comment on it.

'Batman Begins' resuced a DEAD frenchise that almost killed the superhero movie genre as a whole. And is now my FAVORTITE movie of all time. The 'Citizen Kane' of Superhero movies. Chris Nolan has my eternal praise for 'Batman Begins'.

But as for 'the Dark Knight' well ...only time will tell, but from the evident demonstration in the movies I've seen Chris Nolan already done I haven't lost faith that he will deliver a great sequel.

The Title alone strengthen my faith in him however I have to see Ledger's Joker to make a final assesment on it, I'm of 2 minds about it at the moment.

It is curious though that for those of us who was back in '92 who was eagerly waiting for the sequel to Tim Burton's 'Batman' that most bat-fans loved and praised, to be somewhat in the same position with Nolan right now.

Actually without Nolan, Batman would never become serious character.

And he really made masterpiece as one of best superhero movies IMO.

IF the guy didn't like the movie that's fine. Be open about it but don't question people on their taste.

I didn't do that with Superman Returns. I never went onto someone else and go "Why did you like this crap". I had mixed feelings and expressed them, but I never get in someones' optimism for the movie..

that's your opinion, no one on here says BB is a perfect movie, they just regard it as a great movie, which it is IMO....

and that's the different between people praising it, and you, they state they opinion as an opinion, your stating your opinion like its fact....

I love Batman Begins and I admit it's not perfect. But what is?

What's so shocking about people praising a movie in the actual movie's thread?

Would Mad Max give up, would Braveheart give up, Would Payback give up!!!

You guys got me all wrong...

First, of course it´s my opinion and not a fact.
Second, Nolan is an amazing director and Batman Begins is a great movie, and never said otherwise, but what surprises me is the devotion of some to Nolan.

well it is "the dark knight" forum....... if you want to see people that hate it, go to AICN, they hate everything, including themselves

the internet is a cynical place. Isn't it nice for once for people to agree on something. For once..
