great read!
great hearing about the pencil trick and heath having caulk in his hair after the explosion ha

Very cool. It's interesting how simple of an effect the infamous "magic trick" was!

I actually thought they made it out to be more complicated than it had to be. On film, the camera moves so that they actually had quite a bit of time to remove the pencil before Joker slams the goon's head into the table. :funny:

Or they could have added the pencil in post. :cwink:

I actually kinda like the fact that Joker doesn't bleed when Batman really lays it on him. It's like he's inhuman. Although he does have some bloody fingers when holding Stephens hostage with that piece of glass....not that he notices. :oldrazz:

The pencil trick was probably executed in slow motion and sped up in post to make it seem like it was happening real time. That's usually how they shoot action scenes. I could be wrong though.

It's very easy to do with cars, but much harder to do with people, I think! :funny: I think they might have sped it up a teeny bit, to make the bodyguard's impact with the table more dramatic.

great stuff, thanks! This kind of sit down with Nolan would be great behind the scenes content for the DVD special features.

I love Nolan's justifications for everything. He makes such great decisions in his films. A little glimpse into that is pretty cool. Thanks chintai...

this is why we need a goddam commentary track!

Great stuff.

I also saw the thumbs up on the bus but I really did just think it was one of Jokers henchmen not a crew member saying its clear to go. You have to love Nolan's filmmaking ideas.

My favorite scene hands down is the interrogation one... i can imagine how much fun that was for Heath and Christian to dive into :yay:

This was a cool read, tnx for sharing! :applaud

Wow, always thought the pencil was CGI when it disappeared.

i really loved how Joker made that "Psshk" sound as he pressed the button to blow up the hospital. Hilarious.
