Well, I just got back from renting Disc 1 and 2 of Heroes. I've heard nothing but good things and I think I'm going to give it a chance. See if it can make its way into my regular Monday night line up. Wish me luck!

i wish you luck, but i can tell you from the bottom of my heart that, Heroes is a very good show

I gotta admit, at first I was incredibly bored. It starts off very slow. I just finished episode two (broke for Psych and Monk). I am at least hooked for now. The entire thing with Hiro going into the future completely caught me off guard. I can't wait to see what comes next

Nota great show, and definitely not without flaws, but it is a pretty good, entertaining show.

I've just watched the first two episodes of Heroes, and so far it's intriguing and has nice mystery that makes you yearn for more. Of course, the lovely Hayden is very easy on the eyes, as is Ali Larter, and these two babes made the series very enjoyable to watch. I will be starting on episode 3 soon, and if the first two is any indication, I could become a new fan of this TV show.

the show is really good, very addictive.

My younger brother hooked on the show, too. He usually doesn't listen to me because he thinks i'm an idiot. But heard everyone else also liked it. That he spent the whole day watching all 23 episodes. He like it so much, he listed as one of his favorite show on his myspace.

I am half way through Disc 4. I gotta admit...I don't particularly like the show.

I'm not really into any of the characters. Some of them are endearing (Hiro, Peter, and Claire)...but I'm not really interested in, invested in, or empathizing with any of them. In fact, the character I find the most interesting is Claire's father.

I'm not having the fanboy reaction a lot of people had when NBC announced the show ("OMGZ! ITS LIKE A COMIC BOOKZ! IT PWNS!!!").

Like I said, I don't particularly like it...and yet I can't quit watching it. It is quite possibly the single most addictive show I've ever started. I am hooked. And I think it is slowly reeling me into Season 2. If only Nikki's plot would quit feeling more useless than the obligitory President's family sideplot on 24.

unfortunately the payoff for Niki's plot at the end of the season is pretty lame, just like the plot itself.

So its just like an obligitory president's family side plot on 24 :csad:

It just seems so distracting. The only interaciton she has had with the main plot is her few minutes with Nathan. Everything else is intertwined so tightly, everything BUT Nikki. It just feels like such a distraction any time she is on screen.

Anyhow, Abaddon, is what I am saying making any sense?

I really don't know what it is about this show though...but I can't quit watching it. I don't like it. I see how it is well made. The acting is supurb. But, I just don't like it. It is depressing, it is slow at times, none of the characters save Hiro, Peter, and Claire (when she is not whining) are particularly likable...and yet...I can't quit watching.

And it's weird because as you'll see, after a certain point her family life isn't even delved into that much. I don't know what ep. your on, but eventually she gets tied into the main story arch. I think they really dropped the ball in handling this little subplot. I think some of the fans took some of that frustration out on Niki, which is not fair. She's an alright character, and it's fun seeing Jessica. But we don't even care enough about her, Micah, or DL enough to maintain interest in her arch. When things finally start coming together, it's sort of too little too late. And the payoff suffers because of it. But it's the first season, so I guess you have to let those things slide and hope they learn from past mistakes.

I think it's because the show has a fresh feel to it. There haven't been many shows that treaded on this territory. It's like picking up a monthly comic even though you know it won't be that good, but there's a few characters you like and the art is excellent.:o

It's not one the best series' to grace the screen, but it's damn fun to watch. You just have to remember not to set your expectations too high. Still, it's better than alot of the other stuff on television.

Right now she is in the mental hospital. I gotta admit, the end of the last episode I watched was pretty damn cool.

Nikki: Oh god...
Jessica: He can't help you...but I can.

Jessica is pretty damn bad ass.

Hmm, I think my expectations were a bit high. Everyone on this site has been hailing it as the best thing since sliced bread. I have to admit, it is a bit disappointing. But still, I am enjoying it. I'm just not sure I like it :-/. haha, I'm a walking contradiction.

I think it's a good show. Not perfect. Not Megasuperexcellentfantabulous!! But good.

also

in about 3 episodes, Jessica has an interesting encounter with one the other "Heroes".:ninja:

I wouldn't have the patience for Lost. Some call the mystery suspense, I call it an annoying wait :cwink: I am just going to wait until 2009 when the series ends and rent it all in a row.

The show I felt got a lot better in the 2nd half of the season. The problem with the first episodes is that you didn't know where it was going. At the end of episode one, I thought it was okay, but wasn't too impressed. Then you find out about the bomb, which reels you in because now there is a huge plot point to look forward to.

I think Hiro in the beginning was the character keeping the show together. He's great because he is not your typical TV protagonist. He's the hero when he needs to be, but at the same time he seems like part Hurley from Lost, in that he provides a lot of comedy relief. It's refreshing to have a TV hero though that is an average joe for the most part and not some super badass.

Anyway, as far as my opinion on current shows:

1)Battlestar Galactica
2)Heroes
3)Lost

Lost has slipped a lot in season three.

The thing is, the momentum slowed down midseason.

On Lost? I would say the show slowed down to a snail's pace in the first half of the season, then picked up again when they started to put the spotlight on characters aside from Jack, Kate, and Sawyer.

I meant Heroes. On Lost they didn't spend enough time on Locke and co. in the first half of the season.:o

The Claire and her father plot has to be the best on the show thus far. Claire's father seems to be the most complex. He seems to truly love Claire and his family. He doesn't seem to have a sinister agenda, but his tactics seem a bit under-handed. Plus I still don't know what the hell he is up to. Is he a government agent? Something else? What is his motive? He is just a really well rounded and interesting character.

I think the writers had the same thoughts. They had this guy at first that was just a guest role. Then as the season goes on they realize...man, he's one of the most interesting characters on the show. So his role got bigger and bigger and more complex and interesting. HRG was definitely one of my favorite characters.

And now I'm pretty sure he is dead. He just found Sylar after he killed the doctor and was in that cell alone with him. :csad:

There's an episode that deals with his past, and for me, it was probably the best episode of the entire season. Not just the show's season, but the tv season.

Phew, he seems to have spared him. But now he knows where Claire is! Damn, I'm on my last disc 4 episode. I should've rented disc five as well. Oh well, the video store is closed. Gotta wait til tomorrow.

Well, it wasn't the six months ago episode as I've already seen it (though it was good. I love the way he recruited Eden)...so now I have something to really look forward to  :woot:
