I'm working on a 25 minute short film called "In Aggression".
The story is about an estranged husband who takes his daughter back to his wife at a gas station. But before he leaves, gun shots are fired inside. He comes to the scene to find his wife dead and his daughter severely injured. The film will deal with the repercussions of revenge and vigilantism. What makes our quest for vindication and justice any different from violence brought on by desperation? What makes it worse?
Below is a piece of concept artwork I've created for the hospital scene. I'm going for a very film noir effect, but in color instead of black and white.
Me and my Director of Photography Shane Bartlett are thinking about what exactly we'll be shooting on, and 35 mm has been brought up. Whether or not it'll be done in 35 is up to my money situation and camera access, which I've been told, Watkins Film School is more than likely going to have a 35 mm camera by next semester. And I'll be shooting in the fall, so it may work out.
Right now I'm on my fourth draft of the screenplay and am feeling pretty good about where it's headed. I'm sure I'll be going through a few more drafts before I end up with a shooting script.
