January 24, 2009 - Indiana Jones never has it easy, but his latest trip to consoles has been a decidedly tough slog. Rumors recently surfaced about the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game, seen last in April of 2006, meeting a grim fate. Lucasarts countered reports with a short statement about the fate of the game that gave no firm details -- just a promise that the famed archeologist would indeed ride again on consoles, but no hint about which ones.

While the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 editions of Indiana Jones remain in strange limbo, reports of an Indy appearance on the PSP and DS were not struck down last year. Little is known about Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings (what's the MacGuffin?), but its existence is no longer the stuff of rumor. In fact, a brand new trailer for the game surfaced on YouTube that not only confirms the game for the DS and PSP, but also splashily announces that Indy will whip the Wii as well this Spring.

No gameplay footage is seen nor is the sub-titled Staff of Kings explained -- although fans undoubtedly know that Indy has some experience with artifacts of its ilk. The Staff of Ra was the key to uncovering the Ark of the Covenant. But it looks like Indy is still quite the globe-trotter, muddying his boots in the jungle and drowning his sorrows in an Asian back alley bar.

Cool vid, but im not about to buy a Wii for that. Cuz i know it wont turn out half as cool as that trailer.

The screen shots look like there pushing the PS1 engine to the max...
