Trailer #2

This looks like it might be the best one yet. Definitely seems like an improvement over Insidious Chapter 2 which rode the coattails of the fist films story. I caught a quick glimpse of Lipstick Demon so he is making a return!

*Sorry if there is already a thread for this film. I searched and tried various searches but couldnt find a preexisting thread for this film.

Looking forward to it. Not especially scary but I love the story telling and characters.

Nice. The Insidious films are well made horror films. Hopefully, this isn't a bad 3rd film.

Insidious was basically a Poltergeist reboot. Hoping this is the good sequel we never got.

Anyone seen this? Completely forgot it just came out yesterday.

I watched it. I thought it was a big improvement over the second one which I hated. This one was genuinely creepy and the Man Who Cant Breathe demon was a lot creepier than that cross dressing Black Bride. Elise had some really good moments one in particular got claps from the audience. We get some background on her and she's in a pretty rough state at the beginning of the film, because she's being tormented by the Black Bride who it turns out has been stalking her since she helped Josh when he was a kid. Elise was just as much the star of this one as the girl, Quinn, was. There are some really really tense moments and the hairs stood up on my arms more than once. The only problem I have with the film is it could have done with one more big scary scene and a stronger climax. The climax isn't particularly long nor does it feel like it was all that challenging for the characters. I think it may not have been earned quite as much as the director and writers felt it was which makes the ending "battle" fall flat. It's a good scene it just didn't resonate with me. If that makes any sense.

But the final scene of the movie...that was good. I won't spoil it, but Ill say this I didn't see it coming nor did most of the audience based on their reaction.

Thanks, Marvolo. I'm glad to read that you thought it was an improvement from the 2nd one which I pretty much disliked as well even though I've been thinking on giving it a second chance as I only saw it in theaters. I'll be seeing this either tomorrow or during the week.

I feels like there's a drop off in popularity after the second film.

Well the second one only managed 38% and it wasn't exactly loved. This one is setting at 59%, but the second one may have burned the franchise. They should have left the Lamberts in film one rather than doing a sequel with them and trying to explain the origin of the Black Bride. The cliffhanger of film one was the perfect horror ending of the Lambert story. This film should have been the second film.

I hope you enjoy it. :yay:

I loathed the second Insidious.

Insidious 3 was good. The film started off really slow but got better as it went on. There were some laugh out loud moments with Elise. The
c'mon b*** line and head butting the man who can't breathe had the audience I was with in stitches.

I still find it weird the actress who plays Elise was the gross landlady in Kingpin.

The Man Who Cant Breathe was genuinely creepy.

I feel like Jason Blum has built his own little American Hammer studios with his Blumhouse Productions. In 15 years he has managed to make a few successful horror/thriller franchises such as Paranormal Activity, The Purge, Insidious and Sinister.

You can tell these films are very cheaply made yet they are still effective and well crafted.

Haven't seen this but it does look better than the second, which I felt had a ridiculous storyline that was full of plot-holes.

I was hoping this one would be about the red demon from the first one and was alluded to at the end of the second one. But the ending of the third one gave a great tease.

Was good, though i agree that the climax wasn't as strong as it could have been. Considering how Quinn's friends were appearing so much in the first act, it feels like they should have had some kind of role in the following events.

I know these horror franchises always make stuff up as they go along and rarely give a good final film, but with al this set-up the Red Demon is getting, i realy hope his storyline will go somewhere interesting.

The second film wasn't very good, but it wasn't as bad as i was expecting, and more decent than most other horror film sequels around. So far, i would say this has been a relatively consistent film series. Excited to see what Chapter 4 will bring.

My main problem with part three is how much Elise flip-flops. One minute she's fearless, the next she's going on about how "she can't do this anymore."

No more of that, please.
