A stylized skull prop that was originally part of a full-size skeleton of the character Venom built for Spider-Man 3. The Venom skeleton was constructed and filmed for a sequence that was ultimately cut from the film. The skull is made of resin and fiberglass with a servo-controlled jaw (untested). The skull is sculpted in the unique venom style- with flared eye ockets and spiked teeth.

wonder what this is about? Anyone know or have any ideas?

Wow! Thanks for posting that!

I think I know. The ending in the novel had the Symbiote leave Brock and fight Spidey. When it left Brock, it left his skeleton behind instead of a body. It literally ate him up. Really cool, really creepy, but super sad because we don't know how long Brock was really even there.

I kind of liked what they did more.

Seriously, thanks for posting that. I saved those pics.

The symbiote was eating away at Brock because it was angry itself and even fed on Brock's anger and LITERALLY eating away at Eddie and just left a skeletal of a man and then went after Spidey once again and there was even a longer confrontation of just the symbiote and Peter which could be a reference of Ultimate Carnage in a way.

Like I said, the novelization is 100x better than the actual film.

Awesome!! I really do wish they would release a directors cut for SM3 like they did for SM2, there is so much that was cut from this film.

And I honestly didn't know that this scene was filmed, very interesting stuff.

Pretty much all of the stuff that happened in the novelization was filmed. The park scene, the entire final battle and even the business with Sandman meeting up with that doctor to cure Penny.

I want that more than anything right now,a Spider-man 3.1 dvd.

Agree. There were scenes in the novelization that were cut mostly. I would love to see those scenes.

I'd love to see a Spider-Man 3 directors cut similar in style to the Richard Donner cut of Superman 2. This scene would have made the Venom arc make a lot more sense.

That really makes me wonder how the symbiote affects a person. I've always viewed it as just a suit. But,if the symbiote left Brock then why would his skull look alien like that? I would think he'd still have a human skull...unless the symbiote actually seeped inside Eddie's skin and changed his DNA.

Well it messed with Eddie's teeth when he was wearing the suit, so I guess the implication was that it distorted him physically. Obviously this is less the case in the final version of the film as he's normal when he's separatedfrom it.

Very interestig find. I think I prefer the film's resolution over the novel's, but I'd certainly lke to see anything Raimi shot and discarded. This is the first I've heard of this particular scene being filmed.

I could see it altering his teeth since the symbiote went into his mouth and throat, and since his teeth had no flesh or skin covering them. But for the symbiote to physically change his skull? It would have had to enter his pores in his skin and physically change him, which would have been PAINFUL as hell.
