Iron Man Iron Man Concepts

I'm starting this thread so that people can submit their own interpretation(s) of the alcoholic, armor-suited hero. I enjoy seeing all the variations out there since there's practically no limitations in suit design and weapon configurations.

This image was inspired by the Ultimate Ironman series written by Orson Scott Card. Basically Ironman gets inebriated, takes one of his suits out for a test-spin, and antagonizes the Navy. With his judgment impaired, he regretfully learns how powerful his suit is after nearly killing several innocent civilians and pilots.

How so? Could you post some pics of helmets you consider cooler?

Yes, the image is a portfolio piece I will be submiting for scholarship consideration. I used ZBrush to model and render the armor, jets, and missiles. Photoshop was used to create the background and smoke. Constructive critiques are welcome to make it the best it can be. I posted here because I figured fans may have the most insight.

That's very well done. Just so you know, Favreau mentioned he'd be using some design concepts from Adi Granov.

Jon Favreau said:
I have been in contact with Adi since he found me on MySpace. I am a fan as well. I think you'll all be very pleased with the direction the suit design is going. Let's leave it at that for now. Fair enough?

Ah, thanks Batman. The official ironman thread you started was very insightful. Granov's interpretation is very sleek. I like it. Actually it gave me an idea for my next image...:)

I'm curious though. Having read the series since issue one is there anything in Granov's vision that you dislike or wish were there?

No, not really. The whole design works well, for every comic he appears in, no just in his own title. Whoever it is that draws the suit, has a bit of Granov's work in mind. You can see it especially in the helmet. It's very sleek then some of the past armors he's worn, though I have my favorites from the past of course.

I'm really looking forward to what Favreau has in mind, same goes for the gray suit.

I'd be fine with the movie if IM looked like your rendering. It could certainly be MUCH worse! Good job!

I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I'm thinking about making an image of Tony Stark in his workshop taking off damaged Granov-styled armor after a brutal fight. Various armor concepts could be hung on the background walls accompanied by high tech gadgetry. Just a thought...

Do it! And by the way, post a copy of that pic on Favreau's MySpace page!

 very cool CG.

I kinda agree that the mask looks a hair goofy. I think its in the nose area.

Hurry up and make that other concept you were talking about. Can't wait!

Cool pic CGApotheosis.
I am trilled to see Jon Favreau bring Adi Granov on board for the movie, his work on Iron Man Extremis is one of the finest run's in Iron Man's 30+ year run, couldn't think of a better artist to do concept work on Iron Man

Sorry about the pic not showing. It's linked to CGChannel's server which occassionally goes down.

it looks more like a robot. look where the joints should be (fingers). awesome tho.

Thanks for all your comments guys. I've appreciated all your insights. As for me, I'm going to dive back into another project so you may not hear from me for a few. Gotta write a best man speech too.

I'm going to make two more images for my portfolio oriented around Iron Man. One dealing with the image given by Mal'Akai. The other more complicated image will have Granov's style of the hero as well as my version of the grey suit. I hope not to *uck it all up!

Here is a design by someone here on the hype can't remember who though NOT MINE:

Here's four WIP's of the armor I'm working on. Which is your favorite?
