In the above video are jokes of Louis CK and Dane Cook compared. I have seen Dane Cook before, and swore I had heard several of the jokes before....somewhere else. I suppose this confirms my suspicion. However I cannot decide. Louis CK and Joe Rogan this year have already been critical of Dane's performances (although Louis said he felt the plagarism accusations were overblown).

What do you guys think.

If he's stealing material then he's even lamer than I initially thought 'cause I've never heard him say anything funny.

Who's he stealing from, Tim Allen?...Jay Leno?

In the video there it showing similarities between he and Louis C.K.

Carlos Mencia has been confronted and documented for stealing material. George Lopez punched him out when they met backstage at some show...

I saw Dane Cook at the Hollywood Improv about 6 years ago and he was doing the same routine he's doing now, except back then it was at least a little funny...

I can't wait for the Comedian Civil War to begin.

I'm hoping that Louis CK destroys Rogan, Cook and Mencia since he's the only one of them that's even remotely funny. Kill them all, Louis! :cmad:

Dane Cook, Carlos Mencia and even Dennis Leary are notorious in the comedy community for stealing meaterial.

I would agree with that jag, but spare Rogan as he is the one who has been frontrunning the outing of "comics" who have been stealing material.

Leary is actually notorious for stealing entire routines... :billhicks:

It amazes me that both Cook and Mencia can be joke stealers and yet still be so unfunny.

Its just three jokes and the only one that might be stolen is the second one. Steve Martin did that joke before either of them so I guess Luis is a joke theif too.:whatever:

See, I've heard pretty much all of Bill Hicks' stuff and the only thing Leary seems to have stole is the dressing in black and smoking thing onstage, but people said he was always doing that. There is a joke though that I heard Leary do on "No Cure For Cancer" that I heard Hicks do, but Sam Kinison did that one before either of them.

Sb, why do you hate Dane so much? You wanna discredit his career at any cost :(

I don't think it's valid to say people steal from Bill Hicks, 'cause Bill Hicks just makes observations that ALL cool people make on their own.
That's why he resonates with cool people.

I was saying the thing about how warped it is for Christians to wear a cross when I was a little kid and had never heard of Bill Hicks at all.
Same with the semen in the sock, after Monty Python's "The Meaning of Life" introduced me more thoughtfully to the Catholic reverence for sperm.
I'd never even heard of Bill Hicks until around 2001, but way back in '91 or so we were all making pretty much every observation he was making about drugs, drinking, smoking, sex, etc. Some of ours were repeated and were even funnier than his wordings.
So I don't think you can just say that someone stole from him when you hear them say something VERY similar.
If you're smart and cool in anyway, there's a high chance that you'll even say some his stuff, on your own, nearly word for word.
And that's why I cone-butt him to Death.

We can compromise and Rogan can be killed last, how's that? Seriously, he's a whiny b1tch who has to attract attention to himself by being the whistle-blower on this because he isn't funny. Notice how no one is stealing HIS material?

I vote for a severe beating and possibly amputation by bear... but that's it... I'm for the whistle blowing when no one else has the balls to do it...

Whistle blowing should be done by someone who's actually successful in their field. I approve of the bear mauling, though.

Note to all comedians:

Jokes about seeing someone hit by a car, naming your kids weird names and itchy *******s are all off limits. Louis CK called dibs on those subjects back in '01. Although I'm not really sure Louis CK can be credited for the kids thing, celebrities have a naming their kids f'ed up names long before '01.

I'll tell you why I feel that way. If someone who's not considered successful or talented in their field starts complaining about someone who IS (at least more than they are) and accuses them of being a thief and a fraud, it comes off as them just being jealous of the other person's success, which hurts their credibility. Yeah, Rogan has big balls for calling these guys out, but...is he doing it because he genuinely cares or because he's jealous of their success (particularly because he doesn't really bring HARD evidence to the table, but just cites random examples of things he thinks they stole). I've said it before; if he was serious about this, he'd organize a class action lawsuit and stick it to these guys he's accusing legally and prove it once and for all in front of a courtroom. THEN he'd truly damage their reputations like he seems to be intent on doing and make it nearly impossible for them to steal material in the future. As it stands, he's just a whiny b1tch looking for publicity.

That's what sucks about having an iconic sig that's carved in stone.
Over the years I've had to let scores of great new sigs float away into the ether. :csad:
So make the change man! Get with the times! Stone sigs are so 90s
