Is Jerry Seinfeld overrated?

So, I was watching that Comedian Award thing on HBO. Then...the thought occurred to me, the guy is a bit overrated! Is he a nice guy? Yes. Is he funny? Yes, but I never really found him to be anything special. There's atleast 50 comediens (past and present) who are better than him. Lenny Bruce, Bill Cosby, George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, etc are all 30x funnier than him. As for the Seinfeld show, that show wasn't even funny till its 3rd or 4th season. And, it only got funny cause of all the wacky characters like George's parents, Newman, Kramer's lawyer, Soup Nazi, etc.

Why? How is someone who recieves the first annual comedian award underrated? How is someone who's sitcom was voted the greatest of all-time by TV Guide underrated?

I've honestly never laughed at any of his jokes. Ever. I just don't find him funny at all. And I also thought the show Seinfeld was bad. It's nothing personal against him, he's just not funny to me.

I liked Seinfeld. Well...atleast from season 3 (or 4) till 9. But even that sitcom is some-what overrated. I still can't believe TV Guide named it the greatest sitcom of all-time. Now, how the heck is Seinfeld better than I Love Lucy, All in the Family, The Jeffersons, Happy Days, Cheers, The Cosby Show, etc etc etc.

S--t, I enjoy Married with Children, Saved by the Bell, and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air a lot more than Seinfeld.

And, I know the TV Guide thing was 7 years ago but since then I think Scrubs is easily one of the greatest comedies on television. WAY better than Seinfeld.

Seinfeld is the man. He managed to make a sitcom side-splittingly funny, which is so rare. And having seen him doing stand up twice, I can say that he's even funnier on stage.

He's on every talk show and just got honored by that Comedian Award crap on HBO. He also presented an Osacr. And, has an animated film coming out!
