The other night, and today still, my PS3 like, refuses to play bluray movies. It'll play a game, a dvd, and a cd, but blurays just freeze up. Do I need a new laser / ps3?

It may be headed that way. Although it is kind of strange that it will still play games. The games are on Blu Ray also. Do the games freeze up at all? If not, then I expect that it will very soon. Do you have a fat or slim?

P.S. I watched the Deathly Hallows part 2 last night and absolutely LOVED it! :awesome:

Yes it is. Mine did this last year. Call Sony and they will send you a box to ship it to them. It will cost around $100 to fix, but that also includes shipping via FedEx, both ways. They were AWESOME taking care of this for me last year. I think they had it for, maybe, a week.

Others may say you can do it yourself or have someone local do it and save a few bucks, but if ANYONE other than Sony opens it, and let's say, messes it up, Sony won't touch it with a 10ft stick. No matter what you pay them.

Also, once they fix it, it comes back with a new 1 year warranty.

Yeah, I fixed mine myself when the laser went out and it worked flawlessly after that. However, I agree with Hotwire here. I would send it in to Sony and let them fix it. It will cost approximately $40 more than what it would cost to fix it yourself, but you will also get that peace of mind, knowing that you have a year's warranty when you get it back. It's definitely worth the extra money to have it done right.

I mean, AC froze but that was once, but now it works fine? I should still send it in just in case. I know right? Best ending ever!:awesome:

I'll have to call them up then!

this happened to me last year, i could still watch DVDs but nothing else. I have the worst luck when this happened because i ended up getting the first two Uncharted's and God of War III. I have still yet to send it out due to lazyness and because i am completely broke at the moment.

I've been so busy I haven't had the oppurtunity to ship it to sony yet, not to mention I had a one month / birthday coming up, which I spent money on a now Ex-girlfriend, and my mothers birthday. When I get paid friday I will cash that in to send to sony :o
