Okay, so my girlfriend finally bought me a PS3 strictly to play DC Universe Online. Totally awesome.

Everything was fine. But earlier I was playing in the front room. Had the controller plugged in so it could charge and some villain killed me. I went

"ARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!" and threw my hands up in the air.

Needless to say the cord was yanked and my PS3 flew off the stand and hit the ground. I quickly set it back up.

Everything SEEMS to be working just fine. The problem is I tend to "freak out" about things like this and make it a bigger deal than it really is.

I now play the game and notice every little detail and assume it's because I dropped the PS3.

The graphics for the flames on my jetback are not showing up, and I believe it's because I dropped the PS3.

Other players often appear as shadows, even though that has been happening since day 1.....it's because I dropped my PS3.

Any lag at all.....etc, etc.

I guess I just have a few questions.

How sturdy is the PS3? I guess it's a slim, even though it doesn't seem that slim...I don't know we just bought it though.

It fell about a tad over 2 feet. Onto a carpeted floor (though it's not super thick carpet).

I don't see any damage markings on it. But it did fall like on the corner where the power button is. So I'm also worried that the CD somehow is going to be damaged as well, since it was in the system.

Would the system show signs of damage already? Am I in the clear? Can a game's graphics or gameplay even be affected due to this? Am I just freaking out over my new toy?

Any opinions at all would be great.

How long have you had it? You might want to call them if your warranty is still good and see what they say.

this reminds me of a particular computer for which it was suggested people drop it on the floor on it's edge so it's chips would get knocked in by the shock better than they otherwise would be. on a ps3 the biggest worry would be the blu-ray drive. and as long as it's reading discs there shouldn't be a problem.

DUMB QUESTION IN 3, 2, 1...

why are you playing it with the cord plugged in? charge it up all the way, unplug it and play without the cord. if you have to play with it while charging get a USB extension wire to make it longer ;).

Yes I have learned. I haven't really played much console games since the N64, been sticking with my comp. Now I have played some games, but thought wireless controllers were something one had to buy as an extra, so I was not aware that I had one lol.

Even still, I knew it was wireless when the accident happened. But happy to report that I think all is well.

Thank you guys.
