It's a derivative of Robert and what not, I know, but there's a dude here at work that's like 4 years younger than me, but when I first heard his name, they were calling him Bob, and I assumed he was some old ass man. I met him for the first time today, and he's sportin some cargo shorts and some PacSun t-shirt, and I'm like, what the hell? You figure him for a Rob or a Robert, but they're calling this dude Bob, and it seriously messed with my mind. I'm like, you're too young to be a Bob, man. Yes, it's a hot, slow day.

You are actually on to something as most people called Bob start of as a Bobby and then when they are adults they then become a Bob. So, there are not many Bobs under 30.

I knew a Bob in highschool...that would make him around 24-25 now...so he counts.

Best part is his last name, Trout...Bob Trout...haha!

I can beat that ... Bob Hickey!

Also a high school friend, also around 24-25 now.

A lot of younger people these days will sooner go by Rob than Bob. Same with the Richards who're called Rich more often than Dick.

I know a Bobby who's 20. I know a Bob who's just barely over 30. I don't think I know any straight-up Bobs under 30. Kind of like I don't know any Ethels or Ednas or Danforths under 80.

i also know a 25 year old bob. also a slightly younger rob.

names are very representative of the times, especially nicknames...

try looking for a lady under 40 called dorothy, maltida, delilah or lolita....

i've got a friend with a son called liam named after liam gallagher.
