Do we know if it's new packaging yet (Like the X-Men / X2 collector's set) or is it just gonna be the regular 3 DVD's in their original packaging sealed together in a cardboard box?

I'll just settle for the full screen edition this week. :ninja:

wow, they really want people to buy the trilogy box set... it's less than $10 more than the movie by itself (in Canada, anyway)

Whats the point, we already have X1, X1.5, X2 lol, why waste money on a trilogy set when after we buy X3 we will have the whole lot anyway?

The fans have them, but not casual movie-goers who only started at the third movie. That's an assumption they can make because it made the most at the box office, but perhaps had fewer repeat viewings for some die-hard fans.

I'm probably just going to rent the Oct. 3 release and then wait for them to release the double disc edition in North America before I buy.

I feel sorry for the people who only started watching the films at the third movie :(

Someone seriously asked this questions? Even after all the posting we have had about all the dvd's?..... funny

second that. two of my friends weren't into x-men at all until i convinced them to come to the third movie with me. i always wondered why so many people, at least around here, never saw a single x-men movie and went to see the third one. i mean i guess for the advertising, but i cant recall any movie series that i randomly had a desire to see when i didnt see any of the others. weird lol

i dont own any of the dvds so far, because when X1 came out i was 11 and seriously? where would i have the funds to go buy movies. by the the second came out i was 14 and generally spent my money going to the movies rather than buying dvds. so i just figured, ok theres bound to be a trilogy set eventually so ill just wait for that.

there are situations where people dont own all of them.

One of my friends at work reserved the box set--she never had X1, and once X2 came out she said she knew they were making a 3rd one and would probably release a trilogy set, so she waited. She's very proud of herself for waiting, too. :woot:

Lol i want one copy of every kind of dvd that comes out. Being a collector comes at a pricy cost.

I own X1 on VHS and X2 on dvd. Soon to get X3. Im not gonna get the boxset though.

Okay, so I finally got my question answered. We got our DVD's in at my work today.

The trilogy box set is what I feared, just the single disc versions of the films in their original packaging, all packaged together.

I knew we were getting the single disc versions, I was just hoping it'd be something nice like the X-Men / X2 Collector's Set, where there was new, original artwork for the entire series, and a small booklet covering all the characters in the franchise and such.

Instead, it sucks balls and I'll just be buying the Collector's Edition of The Last Stand.

Ghetto... but I bet they'll make a 6-disc foldout edition when they come out with the two-disc dvd in North America.

So stores are already getting these so that they can stock them Tuesday? I will have to buy mine after I move to California. But I wanted the Walmart edition!

Yes, retail stores usually ALWAYS get the CD's and DVD's in about a week or so before they come out.

But they cannot be released until the specified release date, always on a Tuesday. The reason is because it's an agreed upon street date to help the small time retailers like mom & pop stores compete, places who won't always be getting the product a week in advance.

But if you walked into an F.Y.E. (used as an example since that's where I work) or some other retailer, they could get in big trouble if they sold you the product before the release date.

I hope so. I've been waiting for that since my friend picked up the Collector's Set for X-Men / X2...
