Is This A Good Laptop for Gaming????

Well the 9500M GS is a mid level card. All that really tells me is that a low end card wouldn't run vista..It does have 3 gigs of s dram...Its kind of hard to say
I would check what the recommended specs for both those games are first.

eh, no Laptop is good for gaming. Playing games on a PC stresses the computer parts that generates the most heat which are the GPU, CPU and memory chips. The laptop would be destroyed trying to play a game like the ones you mentioned because a laptop is too small and doesn't release enough heat.

Not true....
Laptops that are gaming machine have a MUCH shorter end of life because you cant upgrade the GPU.

But it seems ok just depends on the game.
And you will have to replace it much sooner than a big desktop

i dunno if you specifically want acer or are just in the market for a laptop but
if you check out the dell site, you can select a laptop model geared specifically for gaming, and you can also customize your order.

I would say on a whole yes, 1.83ghz Core Duo 2 processor is the only downside since many laptops nowadays are 2.0ghz, but the graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS which is a slightly above average graphics card similar to the NVIDIA 8400 GS which is good but you can do better, 3gb of Ram is surprisingly good, the more the better I always say.

Yes its good but I'd personally think you can do better, try finding a laptop with a better processor (at least 2.0ghz Core Duo 2) with a 8600GT & 2gb of RAM if you're thinking about a laptop for around $1300.

I also want a Blu-Ray drive in the laptop as well, plus the Laptop I mentioned has 1080 resolution, which is great, no point in having a bluray drive if the screen isn't the right resolution.

But, looks like i need more processor speed.

I tried the Dell Site, and man, every time I add the features i need, the price goes around 3000 bucks, that is toooooooo much. I'm looking for something in the $1299 - $1799 range

I really need help guys in choosing a laptop. Here are my requirements:

- Price range : $1,400 - $1,800
- 2.4ghz processor or higher
- Bluray drive (don't care about Bluray writable drive)
- 17" or above screen
- Must have a resolution of 1920x1080

Anybody know a laptop with those specs in that price range??????????????
