I've tried comparing these two computers which I'm very interested in but I can't come up with why one of them is $80 more. I am going to be using this laptop as I go away to school and study Graphic Design so I need something that can handle huge software like Photoshop and InDesign...etc. If someone can please inform me on what the difference is between these two, I would really appreciate it. The guy at Best Buy said that the one at $750 was a Dual Processor and would be way quicker and so he doesn't understand why the other one would be more expensive. Then again, salespeople have their own agenda so I need the honest truth. Thanks in advance :)

I am leaning towards this one mainly because of the bigger screen.

Here's the second one:

Looks like different processors. 6gb RAM should be good enough for Photoshop. Might want to get 8 if you're gonna run bigger programs like Maya or something. Best Buy people don't work on commission so I can't imagine him not being honest about it. Who knows?

So do you know if the more expensive one has a better processor or if it's that much of a difference? Because if not, I would REALLY like the bigger screen. Also, if I needed more RAM, it's upgradeable to 8 GB.

I think the difference in the processor is negligible for your needs. Good that you can upgrade RAM as well. I got 8gb on my new iMac about a year ago and just upgraded it to 10. It's fast as!

I would check out www.geekbench.com which should help you determine the differences between the power of the machines but as far as the i5 goes it's pretty powerful.

I assume you're looking at these instead of a mac because of your budget?

I would definitely love to have a mac, since I use them at school but they are definitely extremely pricey. I've checked out that website as a .org but the only thing it seems to do is scan my existing computer. Am I doing something wrong?

Geek bench also has ratings on their website for machines and processors they've test. Try the blog section up in the top right area.
