Is this any good?

I'm considering buying this HDTV for my bedroom...

It has a very low price, but the fact that it's not an incredibly well known brand kind of makes me worried. Anyone have any experience with TVs similar to this one or know if this is any good? I'm not expert at TVs so please enlighten me. Also if you have any suggestions of better TVs with a low price like that feel free to post.

Go to the store & check them out in person. Be sure to get an extended warranty with any widescreen tv that you get though.

not sure about this brand but if you are going to the store, be sure to know your specs because if a guy comes up and tries to sell you something dont look like an idiot, thats how they get you

The Insignia I bought is actually an LG previous year model and they are pretty nice. I bought my father an Insignia 50 inch plasma the other year for Christmas.

As for the warranty. never get the extended warranty for anything under $1000. it's a waste of money.
Check out the tv in person. With the insignia's I found out plasma looks nicer than LCD.

This is a pretty cheap Samsung. It has 30,000:1 contrast ratio, is that any good?

yea, my widescreen LCD monitor is a 22 in. with a contrast of 10000:1

I honestly don't know. I have a Samsung 32 LCD and we like it a lot. The only complaint I have is it takes a few seconds to turn on when pushing the power button.

it has a contrast ratio of 800:1 which isnt great for a LCD Tv, theres other tv's i have seen LCDs that have a better picture quality & lager size for the same price

here is a good one to buy if you have some more cash

ur better off buyin a tv from newegg or amazon if ur able 2 buy online. if u buy from a bnm like best buy, ur gonna pay more than u should. u can get more 4 less if u buy online. service n quality is the same or better. not sure if ur goin by budget or features but im positive u can get a better deal. also, slickdeals.net is a great resource for deals, online n bnm. i can vouch 4 dat site cuz i got my tv (samsung hl67a750) 4 only $1300 from a deal i saw on dat site n i hav no complaints or probs.
