Reviews:

"A dizzyingly tense and creepy workout." - Chris Nashawaty, Entertainment Weekly

"My whole life I’ve been a horror-movie freak, and I’ve rarely been as scared as I was at It Follows. But it wasn’t a fun kind of scare. It was the so-upset-I-feel-sick kind of amorphous dread." - David Edelstein, Vulture

"It's an undeniable triumph of mood - perfect for anyone who wants to practice clenching their fists for nearly 100 straight minutes - as well as an ambitious effort at reinventing horror by eschewing the genre's common tricks." - Inkoo Kang, The Wrap

Just read an article about it on yahoo. I'm intrigued by it!

I'm trying to not buy into the positive buzz too much because You're Next had great buzz and I thought it was mediocre and uninspired as hell. The trailer really sold me on this one, though. Fingers crossed!

Seems like a metaphor for an STD.

Anyway, the trailer looks good, but I question how this will work in an actual full length film. I mean, if this thing comes for you... that shouldn't take long, right?

This was supposed to premiere on VOD today in the U.S., but I've checked Charter On Demand, Amazon Instant Play, PlayStation Store, Vudu, and I can't find it anywhere.

I (just actually!) read/watched some spoilery reviews and more or less know how the movie turns out. Seems like the mood and cinematography is a huge callback to the 70s/80s slasher flicks, Halloween especially with the synth score, and in the way the wraith-thing goes after you at walking speed.

Hyped! More so because I'm still hyped despite knowing how the movie ends.

The VOD release date has been pushed back to March 27th.

I saw this at a festival some time ago.

Believe the hype. It is the a wonderful horror movie that deals with a very creepy allegory about STDs and death at a young age. Plus, it has a John Carpenter styled score. See it as soon as you can.

Can't wait to see this. It's not playing at any theaters near me so hopefully it hits Amazon Prime soon.

The independent film industry has been knocking it out of the park with horror films these days. The Babadook, It Follows, and there's a movie coming out later this year called The Witch that received strong reviews out of Sundance. Here's hoping the trend continues.

Looks interesting. I'll have to catch it on VOD, as no theaters nearby are showing it.

Why can't movie posters look like that anymore :csad:?

Who would see a movie with a poster like that? People only see movies that have posters with photoshopped floating heads. :o

"Listen, and understand. That terminator is out there. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead."

That is an excellent poster, though.

Everyone who has an interest in horror or John Carpenter has to see this immediately. The conceit is so simple yet it works so well in the film, plus the characters are actually well drawn and interesting, especially for a horror film. I also wrote a piece about what I thought the director was saying about our illusions of true freedom:

For once the hype for this movie is justified. I thought it was excellent and the suspense and terror generated is superb. The concept of 'it' is original and there is a nice balance between [BLACKOUT]not knowing what exactly is pursuing the lead character while also hinting at its history/previous victims. [/BLACKOUT]

Guess I'm waiting for this to hit the Blu-Ray.

Unless by some miracle a theater in Cincinnati picks it up. Not likely :csad:.

It will be online for rental in a couple of weeks.

And you should see it as soon as possible.
