It Follows

QT fusses about the alien changing its tactics. Even predators in the animal kingdom shift their strategy if they have to. Clearly this alien, or whatever it is, is intelligent to a degree so its not going to always do the same thing everytime.

i am happy that QT is so honest. we need more directors and actors like him. but i think he is very wrong here.

i have a problem with comments. why are they hating QT?

Yeah, i liked that QT talks about his opinions, but i disagree with him here. We never realy get a true "rule book" regarding how the thing operates, i think it was aiming to do more than simply kill those that were cursed, seemed like it's purpose was also to torment the victims psychologicaly, as it slowly walks towards them until it picks them up, as well as finding ways to use traps in its favor, like what was shown with the pool scene.

I saw this on Saturday and this has to be one of the best horror movies I've seen in years. I would really recommend this to anyone who's a fan.

I could see where some might see it boring in spots, but the directing and style keep it from being that.

But, like Halloween... I'll take slow-burn thrillers over the slash-blood-fests/possession crap that have zero style or character.

I prefer psychological horror films over slasher flicks, but to me, this movie never achieved what it set out to do. I could tell that they were trying to create a certain mood and sense of dread, but it just fell flat for me. The scene on the beach was comical, not scary or unnerving, for example. I don't think its a BAD film, but there are far more horror films that I would recommend to others first.

Saw it last night, great premise, good film. Didn't really like the pool scene though, "Let the Right One In", now that's how you do a great pool scene.

I don't know, it being completely willy nilly really watered down any point the movie might have made.

When it was seemingly people from further up the chain of succession and naked or in their underwear, it really added to the sexual menace of the premise.

Or then it was their parents, which again, weird Freudian angle

or it can just be your fully closed friends, or a giant, or a girl pissing or...whatever.

I don't just came off rather pointless.

Thats indeed a unique horror movie. They did movies like this back in the 70s or 80s and thats why i loved it. Very charming retro style 5/5

I liked it, thought it had a great creep factor going. I have a kind of oddball interest in movies like these so... I actually liked the ending as well. It isnt probably what most would like though. It did leave things open, but I thought it served a purpose if you think about how the main actress and her friends brother felt about each other.

I too disliked the pool scene and thought some of the logic was murky (so it walks towards you always... unless you drive or take a plane far away in which case it seemingly reappears within range of your new location and begins walking again...uh?)

But it looked great, had a cool retro feel, awesome soundtrack and was generally very very creepy. Overall I thought it was very good horror flick.

Just finished watching this. It wasn't really what I expected/hoped it would be, but it worked. It certainly wasn't bad, but I think it might have been just a smidge overhyped.

Dat score tho. :o

Sequel title: It Follows Still. :o
