Ok I know he wrote a few treatments for spider-man, but I heard he was also attached to X-men in the early 90's and wanted kurt russel and tom cruise as wolverine and cyclops. If this is true does anyone where I can find the script.

I always thought Cruise would make an awesome Cylcops.

Might as well call it Cyclops then instead of X-Men.

Even though the effects wouldnt have been as good I still think cameron could have made better X-Films

Or call it X-Men, but with just a profile of Cyclops on every promotional poster. Other X-Men are really not that important.

He ended up making his own kind of Superhero that turned into the show Dark Angel. I heard some that before on here. about the show.

Dark Angel was inspired by Battle Angel Alita. And now after all these years he is finally getting to make an Alita movie, but only after he perfects the techniques on Avatar. We were on the set of Avatar a few weeks back...it's grown men playing with toys basically...about 80% of the film will be CGI

The reason i said that was cause i heard someone mention it in the Dark Angel thread.

dark angel is craptacular.

and if tom cruise was cy...i think i would have committed suicide

Id rather have a movie revolving around Cyclops (played by Tom Cruise) than a movie featuring Halle Berry as Storm :o

So true.
What i wanted to know is if the script was faithful or not.

So sort of like the X-Men movies have been now, only exchange Wolverine for Cyclops? :o

hell the series finale ended like an x-men comic book, with the freaks on one end and the army on the other.

hell there was a burning X as well (homage)

Yeah there was. He even directed the last episode.

Hmm that goes without saying. Cameron is a superior director but I guess we'll never know for sure. Singer's X2 was fantastic though.

Cruise as Cyclops?? Riiiight. That would have happened. *Super eyeroll* I am glad it didn't. Cameron is a great director but I don't think he would be that fantastic with a comic book franchise. His take on Spider-Man and the casting was god awful.

Aliens and T2 have better effects than anything we saw in in X-Men and X2. I think Michael Biehn would have been chosen to play Cyclops if there is even an ounce of truth to this rumor. Cameron wouldn't just pluck Tom Cruise out of thin air to be in his film.

Cruise for Cyclops??

i didn't know Cyclops was only 5'7.

This was right after T2 in 91-92 so I dont think getting cruise would have been to much of a problem.

Cruise would have sucked as Cyclops.

Michael Biehn on the other hand would have made a kick ass Cyclops. Either him or Val Kilmer.

He wanted to do it but then got sidetracked with Spider-Man instead.

I've skimmed the treatment. It is as disasterous imo as his treatment for Spider-Man was. It quite frankly would have been X3 if VISUALLY SPECTACULAR, so maybe it would've been for the best but I prefer Singer's two efforts and still REALLY wish he had done X3 instead of a drastically disappointing (I'm not going to say wholly bad though) adaptation of Superman however.

P.S. I just wish Mardsen's Cyclops had got his due (he played the role well for what little screentime he had, which would have changed if Singer had stayed on X3).

Anyway Cruise could play the role. Despite his height and huge ego (which would not have been as big in the early '90s) he is a good actor. And YES Born on the Fourth of July, Collateral, A Few Good Men, Interview with the Vampire, Minority Report, Magnolia, Jerry McGuire and arguably The Last Samurai vouch for this.

Yes he is an egotistical ******* and I was as much annoyed by the Mission Impossible sequels as the next person, but the man is a pretty good actor though.

Lol. I find it hilarious that people shift Cyclop's role in X3 completely onto Ratner's shoulders and just ASSUME that Singer would have done better. What a joke.
