I remember back in 2021 my dad disliked the term/description insurrection for January 6 because he thought it actually had a positive connotation, as being a righteous uprising against injustice, many more people thought or came to think it did and should have a very negative connotation, probably because of or related to that it is specifically mentioned in the Constitution as something that should be put down.

Yup. I pay an unhealthy amount of attention to the right/far-right (they're the same thing at this point) and several of my friends have sent me that video panicking and going "How are Trump supporters defending this????"

Like guys... he tried to overthrow the government last time and they're still riding with him. They want him to be America's god-king. It's the mainstream Republican position!

You're never going to peel off Trump's hardcore support, but I saw a poll that said 17% of black folk were undecided. My guess is that most will end up voting for Harris, but if you can add anything to, for example, that group of voters, it's a good day. There are other groups his comments won't appeal to either. This election is going to be won or lost by independents and other groups and a performance like I saw yesterday isn't helpful. If he thinks it is, it's no wonder he selected JD Vance as his running mate.
