Jason Statham Wants To Be Daredevil

Yeah, I can't see it. If there was a reboot, I'd hope for an actor better than Affleck.

I guess overall it's his thick accent that most see as the obstacle. If he can somehow work that out, maybe it can work.

Statham as DD? HELL NO!

He could work as some DD villains, and I am sure there are superheroes he can play, but DD is NOT one of them.

He would be awesome opposite DD as Gladiator.

That was a nice read. Hey if he wants to be Daredevil...who are we to say no to a Daredevil reboot. It's like the new trend in movies.

lmao thats like vin diseal wanting to be peter parker lol

...now, that one is a stretch. Diesel just looks too imposing for the meek Peter Parker. Statham, on the other hand, does have a certain angsty vibe that would go with the flamboyant personality of Matt Murdock.

I see him more as Iron Fist than Daredevil.

Not Bullseye, since, according to the article, he said, "Forget Bullseye".

With Jason Statham on board that would definately guarantee us a new daredevil . I think he does well in action movies but he doesn't look anything like Murdock . I guess it all depends on the director

Miller wanting ot make a Born Again movie sounds interesting. I mean it doesn't have to be a direct sequel, all you have to know is that Elektra died and Kingpin knows who Daredevil is. They could make it a direct sequel or not, or keep it all sorts of vague.

But Fox has no interest in re-opening that franchise and unless Spirit makes a **** load of money (which I'm not sure as it looks weird as crap, but if the sex sells it could work) then maybe when Marvel gets the rights back (next year I believe) they'd be up for letting Miller adapt one of his best stories.

Miller really is the definitive DD writer and I'd have no problem letting him do a movie. But he is way too out-there for Marvel who wants all their movies formulaic, simple, PG-13 and as few artistic flourishes as possible. The Spirit is the exact opposite of that and so is Miller making a Daredevil movie based on Born Again.

Either way I'd be up for it, if it happened and I'd also be okay with Jason if MIller is directing, but not otherwise. I don't even know if I relaly like Miller as a director (as he was more of an advisor on Sin City and I haven't seen The Spirit), but if anyone should have free reign on a DD movie, which is a lost cause at thsi point it would seem anyway...why not let Miller give it a crack?

Watchmen is going to be R. If that movie succeeds(it should, come on!) Marvel or Fox, if they are smart, should take a hard, close look at that factor. And if not, hey, The Dark Knight, Iron Man, and Casino Royale, I think, were pretty intense for PG-13. It can work for DD.

Affleck was (IS!) better actor than Statham. And Statham would look ridicilous in a ginger tupee.

I always pictured ray park as daredevil. I think if dd is done right it could give the new batman series a run

Ray Park has the emotive range of a carrot. There's a reason he gets little to no lines in pretty much everything we've ever seen him in, you know. Don't get me wrong. He does action extremely well and has a great screen presence and charisma, but I realllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly don't see him carrying a feature film.

Can you picture Stathem as Matt Murdock in court? I can, and it is horrible. Also, when did Matt get a British accent? This would be the definition of horrendous casting.

I would be tempted not to even see the movie, and the only comic movie I have refuse to watch is Catwoman, so when I won't watch it, that's bad.

Oh, and to SuperKoala

Ok, so Stathem may not be the worst suggestion for DD. Darth Maul is a worse choice :down

At least Stathem can somewhat act.

I like Statham.

But he's no Matt Murdock.

Michael C. Hall on the other hand................

He needs to confirm that he'll let them patch up his receding hairline before I can consider it.

...I think he would. Balding actors like Bruce Willis, Nicolas Cage, Ed Harris, and Billy Zane do it alot.

Perfect.

Ah Sin City, V For Vendetta and especially 300 were all successful R-rated comic book ventures (though i did not care for 300, personally). But Marvel has repeatedly attempted to compare themselves to Pixar in offering "family friendly entertainment."

Yeah DD can be done in PG-13 (though I'm not sure Born Again can), but Miller wouldn't work in those confines and besides as good as Iron Man was, they are trying to make all their movies look the same and play very safe. It is why TIH, which was a very safe generic superhero movie still was cut down an extra 20 minutes. Marvel isn't taking any risks and Miller doing DD based on a graphic violent story that involves drugs, prostitution and murder is not what any studio would call safe, particularly for a superhero movie.
