He looks what I expected him to. I was hoping for a nice teaser poster or Trinity shot today instead...

Wait is this official?

Hey man, be glad we got anything. At least it's something new and a confirmation of something we weren't sure about up until now. Most of us assumed that he'd be bald but that wasn't completely clear.

Remember that report claiming Lex would look like Kurt Cobain?

I still somewhat like the idea that Lex initially looks like that, but through some event during the film, becomes bald.

Just as long as it's not something as cheesy as Superman knocking over a vial or something. :whatever: And obviously that shouldn't be the primary reason for his dastardly deeds (or even a reason at all).

I mean it's not an exact match, but for the purpose of a movie it would have been better to my eyes to have Jesse in the JGL part, though I guess at the time they thought JGL was better at being a "badass" than Jesse.

Rian Johnson and JGL are friends and collaborators. He was cast before Willis came on board. Loved both actors in the movie, but I'd have liked to have seen what Robert Patrick could've done with the role.

It's just so funny to think now how many people on this board seemed to think at one point that casting an actor who isn't naturally bald as Lex Luthor was some great travesty. I remember the legion of posters who seemed to think that NOBODY but D-list Billy Zane could play Lex Luthor.
Just like how there was a whole bunch of people that only wanted Crispin Glover to play the Joker.

I just feel like that's kind of an overused plot device. We saw it with Shane in The Walking Dead when he shaved his head. We saw it with Rick when he shaved his face. We saw it with Walter White in Breaking Bad. I get that it's supposed to be reflective of an internal change, but I just think there are other ways to show that.

Haha yeah I remember that. Didn't Glover's father give an interview saying his son should have been cast instead of Heath Ledger?

lolz

Lex could have hair and lose it for a variety of reasons not just shaving.

I hope they just leave it as it is. Characters don't need a reason to be bald.

Yep it is Wolfie you drunk old dog. :funny:

Hey, I know I'm late to the party, but believe me or not, I was cooking just until recently.

It looks... well like Lex Luthor. :woot:

There's nothing amazing or unexpected about it, but Eisenberg looks quite good and he has a very intense stare (he might be giving Michael Shannon a run for his money in that department), though I noticed that already in some of his previous films.

What I find curious is his clothes. Seems rather casual.

Is he wearing a v-neck sweater or is the a prison shirt?

Isn't that the question of the day? :woot:

Could be either.

What it likely means is, either Lex gets found out and imprisoned at some point, or this Lex prefers a business casual approach, a la Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg.

And it doesn't necessarily have to indicate a change in the character. He could already be a total creep but still look like a teen idol type character. Not everything has to convey deeper meaning or be reflective of character development.

Homer: Exactly! It's just a bunch of stuff that happened.

I would be fine with the idea of Lex in the film going from genius billionaire to super villain. Maybe it's a B/W pic because the clothes do reflect Lex's fate in the film.

Snyder's quote;s on Eisenberg's portrayal from the EW article.

http://www.ew.com/article/2015/03/2...e?hootPostID=836c3e14ad84e577e2b52b38dba9466f

“He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure,” says Snyder, “other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course.”

Eisenberg might not be the first person you’d think of to play the supervillain, but he did have experience portraying a morally challenged billionaire in The Social Network. And this edition of the follicularly challenged megalomaniac taps into a similar hyperintelligence mixed with malignant straight shooting. “Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake,” says Snyder. “He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there.”

It looks more like casual Steve Jobs-like outfit than a prison outfit to me. And what are those two lines that go from his shirt's collar line I wonder?

I like what Snyder has to say. Makes me hopeful and makes me think Jese is right for the part as he is very good at verbal characters.
