Prince of Persia is such a strange movie because it hit all the right notes but yet, something was missing.

IT NEEDED JOHNNY DEPP! Only Depp can make a poorly written Disney/Bruckheimer collaboration worthy of universal praise! t:

Just kidding. Although, some of the reviews of that movie left me scratching my head because they pretty much said that. They were expecting Pirates of the Caribbean in the desert I guess, and Jake Gyllenhaal was apparently supposed to be playing Jack Sparrow or something. I don't know.

I do agree that it felt like something was missing but I can't put a finger on what it was. I thought the plot was thin and predictable, but I wasn't expecting it to be brilliant. Jake and Gemma had good chemistry and Alfred Molina was cool. Ben Kingsley was a bit dull, but not bad. The effects and action sequences were pretty good. As far as movies based on video games go, it was definitely one of the best ones. I mean, you compare it to garbage like Street Fighter, the Mortal Kombat movies or anything by Uwe Boll and Paul W.S. Andersuck and it's really no contest.
