This is very cool....in the latest issue of SFX, Jerry Robinson talks about all three movie Jokers.

...on Cesar Romero: "He was very good for the part, and he fit it physically - he was tall, slim, had a kind of elongated face...and the make up, it was pretty good."

...on Jack Nicholson: "Of course he gave a tour de force performance. I wasn't crazy about the script for that film. But he was very good. If you look at any version of the Joker playing card, you can see the resemblance."

...on Heath Ledger:" I think he may have paved new ground for the Joker...by all accounts, everyone's raving about the performance, so I'm anxious to see the whole film.

....on who could have played the Joker: "I guess with his make-up ability, Lon Chaney....but he wasn't a very tall man, so I don't picture him much int he role...in his acting ability and character, Claude Rains might do it. But he too was not physically right. There were very few who met the physical requirements for the Joker, apart from Cesar Romero."

One day I am going to make a list about how famous comic creators thought about the Burton movies. I bet not much liked them.

It's actually a little disturbing how obsessive you are with your hate for Burton's Batman movies. Didn't you get banned once before because of it?

there is no hate. I have a soft spot for the first movie.

That's great short interview  Thanks for posting Kevin.

Great finding man.

In the meantime I'll make a collection of posts against you. :joker:

Didn't you get banned once before because of it?

And here we are keeping the countdown for the sequel. :D

Like DamienDark...but the opposite. :hehe:

Yes. But then again he played the Trickster in The Flash TV series and he was.... well, awful. :(

But his voicing of the Trickster on Justice League Unlimited. . . .pure gold!

Great interview. It interesting to hear what the co-creator of Joker think of several actors who play the role. Thanks for the link, KR. :joker::up:

Ledger, he's the GOAT and the movie hasn't even dropped to the public yet. hahaha, I love it.

Hamill was like more annoying character rather than a threatning psychotic whacko clown.

You're welcome, bud.....but I didn't post a link, this is from SFX magazine.

Hamill's Joker was the best.
Heath Ledger is easily the greatest performance with the role of the Joker. He became the character. Simply voicing the character in a cartoon can't even compete. I mean, he's getting Oscar nods from industry insiders. Ledger became the Joker, physically, in audible form ... and he's playful and threatning. Legitimately threatning, not just an annoying shrieking kid's cartoon voice. Hamill can't compete with Romero and Nicholson, let alone stand up to Ledger. Different class of performance. Entirely different league, son.

Truth be told.

Hamill does a great voice, but that's all he does; a great voice. The animation does the rest.

If you really want to access Hamill's performance, listen to audio files of it. And then tell me that, in itself, is as good as what Romero, Nicholson and Ledger have done. True, he sounds 'just like' how you'd imagine the Joker to sound, but I'd argue Romero and Ledger's Joker voices are both equal to that.

yeah, Hamill without the animation would be like Keaton without his bulky batsuit :hehe:
