JSA Movie

it would not have been a smarter move than JLA what so smart about a movie with old guy running around, dont get me wrong i love the JSA, but just wouldnt work for a movie, JL is the best choice with all of the big names from the league, the JL is going to rock if DC can actually have a say in this and if the Writer and the rest of the team, know the source material.

I'd go with the WWII setting. But either way, I can't easily see it. It's different from JL, because the characters aren't as familiar. Someone would have to come along to put a whole new spin on it. Maybe they could test things out with a DTV animated movie.

DTV would probably be the best bet for something like this.

Yeah. A live-action film out of the blue is way too much to hope for. But a DTV movie, that I can definitely see.

Well, let's take a shot at casting it.....These are for a current-day JSA, not a period movie.....

Wildcat: Tom Selleck
Green Lantern: Robert Redford
Flash: William Macy
Hourman: TBA
Power :TBA
Star : TBA
Hawkman: Tom Welling

Just some suggestions....

You forgot Captain Marvel, Black Canary, Red Tornado, and Stripsey.

I'd prefer a JSA film over a JLA film for several reasons:

- There has already been a JL series and JLU. I know the JLU expanded and featured some JSA members, but it just isn't the same.
- Some members of the JLA have already had several media exposure like shows, movies, games, etc.
- It would help expose some perhaps you could say "not as commonly known" heroes to the average public. Let's face it...a non comic fan wouldn't know about any the JSA members most likely compared to JLA members.

Also, I just really want to see something JSA-related. Could be because I'm loving the newest JSA title and that I've been wanting to know more about some of their members and have kept my eye on some for a good while, but...it would be a better idea than a JLA film.

Redfords like 70, theres no way Alan looks that old.

Au contraire, Alan was in his twenties during WWII and even with the effects of the Starheart having worn completely off, he's going to look his age. You wouldn't have to have Redford in the entire movie, but he'd have to make a couple at least.

I left those four out on purpose, Ben Breeck. I guess Stripsey could be added though....and whoever lost out in the Supergirl sweeps could step right into Courtney's boots....

A JSA movie is a novel idea, but I'd prefer to see a JLA film first.

Should it be present day or WWII? If its WWII, then they'd probably all be young or in their prime, plus there'd be some interesting iraq war parallels.

If they go for it, they could use "The Golden Age":

They fight a super-powered Hitler! No kidding!
