Jurassic World - Part 4

The vast majority of big budget Hollywood sequels are kind of crap. Not everyone shares the same Pavlovian response to a few Williams chords.

The people I'm talking about, just judging from their responses and behavior, don't have the intuitiveness like yourself. It's true that most movies kinda suck. But there's also people lack self-awareness and quick to judge.

I just don't understand why this happens again and again and again. It's like people can't think for themselves and completely not self-aware of their thoughts when they react to thinks.

Question your own positive response. Is it any less automatic than the negative ones?

Anyone willing to cook up gifs of the original Jurassic Park gate and the new one?

For teh feels :3?

I can't change the world obviously. Just ranting. And this discussion is probably not going to go anywhere at this point.

, there's also the case of the last 2 Hobbit movies. That bunny sled looked just as bad in the theater as it did 6 months earlier.

Smaug didn't looked as good in the first teaser of DOS as it did in when the movie was released

Smaug's design actually changed somewhat between films and trailers.

My point was, sometimes a crappy shot in the trailers is a sign of things to come.

I didn't expect the trailer to look so... CG. I have to admit, it threw me a bit and not in a good way. The Park's gate just looked off.

But it's not to the point where, "OMG, my hype for the movie has just died". I literally read that in one of the forums out there, on the inter webs.

Well that hype was based off of very little material to begin with so when the greatest influx of new input kind of looks like crap, it very much lets the air out the balloon.

I love practical effects and animatronics, but there's no way those shots of the galimminus running and apatassaurus could have been done without CG. And I didn't mind the gate, yes it looks CG a little but they still have 6 months ahead of doing it, I'm sure the full trailer will show some animatronic dinos :)

As a member of JPL, I haven't really seen but one or two very bad reactions. Why worry what other people think and just enjoy the ride for yourself. That's what I'm doing.

My hype is not dead, though I will say this is not what I expected the film to look like.

And while I am also not a fan of hysterics, how someone feels about how the footage looks is up to them no? You are going out of your way to lose your mind over people losing their minds.

The dinosaurs were not what threw me. It was the gate, the transports.

The gate being CGI is the only thing that irked me. The flames especially make it very obvious you're looking at something built in a computer.

Still, they've got seven more months of post.

Is the gate CGI? I can't tell. It does have a more..plastically corporate look to it, vs the rustic vibe the original gate had.

Cool teaser. Can't wait to see this Thur.

And those bubble cars look perfect for some dino soccer.

Can't ****ing wait to see the T-Rex.

The flock was done with CG in 1993 as well. The gate though? I'm not against CG, just currently, the effects aren't up to snuff.

I wonder if the piano of the JP theme on the teaser was played by Michael Giacchino and will it be part of the soundtrack

I hope so. It's chilling/eerie/perfect.

That gate is not the same gate of the 93 JP, it's going to be used by a monorail and it looks bigger. Still, the movie still has 6 months of perfecting those shots, it's perfectly natural for the effects not being "up to snuff" at this point.

I know everyone wants to talk about there being plenty of time for post, which is true. But you know, it doesn't always happen that way. Most of the time the CGI gets get that much better.
