The barge scene in JP3, set at night with the flare gun, was a step in the right direction, but even then I found it lacking in comparison to JP and TLW. The dinosaurs they pass before that scene, brachiosaurs I think, looked completely CG. That's probably the worst offender in the trilogy. The job they did in 1993 still holds up well today. That's my one main gripe with JP3 or the trilogy as a whole. Specifically the animatronic Spino. He had no life or authenticity as you said like the Rex from JP or TLW. Heck even any animatronics from the films. The cuts from the animatronics to CG in JP, TLW and even some of the other creatures in JP3 looked great and real. Not with the Spino though.
Oops, here you go.t:

It depends on the execution, but I think Jurassic World can be a solid movie. The concept behind it seems stronger. Not just a rescue mission, but a whole social commentary about humanity, nature, apathy, greed and all that stuff like the original. Having the park running for a decade is a good inversion. Like starting a season of 24 with the terrorist attack already having happened.Yeah I agree about the Brach. There was definitely some ehh cgi in 3. Like the Rex eating when the group stumbles upon it and it starts to follow them. I remember though when I first saw the Rex vs spino fight in the theater it was like the most awesome thing ever to me haha. I had goosebumps.
I find it strange that the CG in JP1 still holds up from the 90's yet just about EVERY movie that has come out since cant make dinosaurs look real at all.
The Dino's in King Kong looked like ass, as did the ones in Transformers 4.
I'll give you the T-Rex's(even though they looked a little caricaturist) but those Brontos were BADWell the Dino's in Peter Jackson's King Kong weren't that bad, but the ones in Transformers 4 were garbage.
I could not believe how bad the dinosaurs were in Transformers 4. it was shocking. Did they allow the b team on ILM to work on those scenes?
Oh wow just watched the T4 dinosaurs on YouTube. Damn haha.
Huh, I never really thought about it but is there an E3 type event for arcade games? Never seen any coverage on them from E3[YT]Ogi_Sz3ITUc[/YT]
Possibly new arcade game for Jurassic World.
I still remember the afternoons spent playing that Lost World arcade game.

It's weird because it's hard to tell what they were trying to convey. It's overly cartoony yet, as silly as the Transformers movies are, they've always stride to be real with the visual effects.
Clever girl
