Jurassic World - Part 4

They should give Pratt the lead role in the Uncharted movie. Then he'll truly be the next Harrison Ford.

It might also mean the Uncharted has a chance of being good.

With that kind of talk, you better hope you didn't just jinx him into being the next Christopher Reeve. :o

*insert GIF of Groot gasping in shock here*

Pratt already has the lead in THREE major franchises (GOTG, Jurassic Park and Lego). I don't think he needs to add another one. And he shouldn't, or else people are going to sour on him.

I fear he might get overexposure BUT I also think he would be perfect for Uncharted!!

I'm so happy Jurassic World got him.

Guardians success is only gonna boost this movie's interest. It doesn't just have the Jurassic Park brand name going for it, it also can get people excited that the guy from Guardians of the Galaxy is in Jurassic Park.

People are eventually going to go sour on him anyway... Just how it goes.:whatever:

It's inevitable indeed, too much exposure just kills it after a certain point.

It's like J Law, I used to really love her, but after seeing her everywhere (not necessarily movies only), I do love her a bit less, it's silly for sure.

My only issue is when I start seeing the actor, and not the character.

:shr: clearly you're not a Mockingjay.

To be fair, it's true of many many actors, even the greats, unless you physically change those actors so they look nothing like their regular selves, you don't break the illusion. Then again, depends of the actors, but you're kind of limited after a while by your physical appearance, that's why I'm a big fan of performance capture, the actors can perform characters that look completely different from one another, there's no limit to your imagination.

Yeah, makeup, weight gain/loss and different stylings are what only do it. I know Gary Oldman is a chameleon but I still know what he looks like if they don't put a bunch of **** on him to disguise him.

Tis why Daniel Day Lewis is one of the greatest actors ever. I'd throw in Jeff Bridges too.

Yeah, my dad cracks me up because he's such a fan of the guy's work - thought his Lincoln was uncannily real, Bill the Butcher was his favorite part of Gangs of New York, and Last of the Mohicans is one of his all-time faves - yet he has NO CLUE who he is. When I tell him Daniel Day-Lewis is starring in something, I get no reaction and have to remind him every time where he knows him from. And even then, I get this confused look like his brain refuses to register that all those roles were played by the same guy. DDL is literally too talented to be appreciated by my father, lol.

Day Lewis has the advantage of never ever being seen outside of a movie though.

If he was a fame courting megastar who we see in tabloids all the time it wouldn't be the same.

This, plus the fact that he doesn't really make a lot of movies. Many of the "stars" have 2-3 movies coming out every year, DDL has one movie ever 2-3 years.

Maybe it's just me but if I see a great performance in a movie I enjoy it doesn't matter too much if I've seen the same actor in 3 or 10 movies before, if it's all compelling enough I'm hopefully just wrapped up and enjoying it all. Not saying an actor can't be overexposed and/or misused.

Movies are all about the illusion, and seeing the same actors in different movies/roles has almost always been a part of that illusion.

I think he makes too few movies and is a little too picky with his projects, to be honest.

It just has to be. I watched JP a couple of months ago and still thought he was so charming and good.
