Jurassic World - Part 4

I do enjoy the shot references to the original. Instead of playing to just the nostalgia, what it seems to be cleverly doing is playing to that in a way where no matter what you do to fix the past mistakes, they will repeat themselves. It's in the nature of things that make it inevitable. Chaos Theory at its finest.

Malcolm is horrified somewhere.

This is deep as ****.

Just more proof you can make anything be what you want it to be. :cwink:

Are we going to get Bryce Dallas Howard running in slow motion? I'm asking for Science.

I don't know what to make of this movie. I've never been a big fan of the JP series on film; the first novel is one of my favorite books of all time and even the first JP movie felt like such a dumbed down version of that. Still, if you look at it as just a movie and ignore the source material, it's a pretty good film. The sequels were garbage though and killed any interest I had in the franchise.

And yet... I think this one could actually turn out to be cool. I love Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, and Colin Trevorrow's film Safety Not Guaranteed was absolutely fantastic. So I guess I'm on the fence here.

I'm just hoping there isn't a sense of redundancy to the situation. Because at the end of the day you can't have an island of dinosaurs with thousands of visitors without the dinosaurs running loose and killing people. The most difficult challenge this film poses is when the plot kicks into high gear just how is this any different from what we've seen before?

That's my only main concern right now. Trevorrow has been saying all the right things. But when those dinos run loose and start killing people, it better be fresh. It runs the risk of beginning as something clever like this set up already is to just devolving in what the first film was.

That's a question I have no idea how to answer right now. Hopefully it's answered well come next year.

You make it different by having badass raptors and T-Rexs on your side.

That's true. Hopefully that doesn't suck. That depends entirely on execution. The raptors are easier to imagine since they're smart enough to be trained or just plain manipulated to be trained. I mean who the hell knows what Masrani has done to these things genetically. That's the scary part.

The thought of Chris Pratt mounting a T-Rex could either be the moment where people pull a Jerry Seinfeld or go "**** yes!"

Completely agree. This movie, like most, will be all about execution. This could end up being so stupid if they get it wrong. I am hoping it works. More so for my brother then myself. He loves Jurassic Park. This is as a big a deal for him as Star Wars is for me.

How surreal is it that we are getting a new Star Wars and Jurassic Park next year?

After the disappointment that was Godzilla, I basically need this movie to be good.

Two beloved, massive franchises that are seeming to be very promising and reignite the fanbase? Yeah hopefully it all works out. :woot:

It was sad that after all the hype, Godzilla wasn't all that much of a movie. Couldn't have been more generic. At least Godzilla was worth the time. Pretty awesome.

If this movie is full of great Dino action, but lacks the plot and characters, I am going to be massively disappointed.

The Lucas/Spielberg connection just keeps running through my mind. Maybe Indy V is next...

Fortunately Chris Pratt has more charm and likability in his index finger than Aaron Johnson has in his entire body.

You get Brad Bird and some great, smart passionate writer with Ford returning on Indy V and my ticket is already bought if it wasn't already.

I already bought a few, and that movie doesn't even exist. :woot:

Looks good, and more futuristic than I was expecting. Also blue seems to be the main colour of choice.

There you are AnneFan, was looking forward to your reaction.

I'm the same as everyone else-

I hate teasers of trailers. But this is the JP franchise.

Everything looked great other than the gate, which surprised and disappointed me in that it was CG.

The big difference between this film and the original is frankly that the science feels completely different. It's either going to go one way or the other though in how this works.

To counter all the "Looks fake now" talk this snippet actually looks more authentic than anything Jurassic Park 3 put out

I guess it's the Hawaiian misty atmosphere
