Jurassic World - Part 6

Disagreed, Malcolm's daughter in TLW irritates the hell out of me. Say what you want about Eric, but at least he wasn't whiny half of the film.

True, i always hate kid actors because there always terrible. Lex and tim were ok i guess but i wouldnt mind an entire adult cast with maybe late teenagers.

That's a very unfair generalization and not true. Just like adults, it all depends on the director, script and actor.

Give me examples of child actors in blockbusters who didnt ruin the scenes they were in or terrible? I have too many terrible ones to count with jake lloyd at the one seed.

It's all personal opinion. Some people hate the kid from Iron Man 3 whereas I liked his role and acting.

The Harry Potter actors also radically improved over the course of the series.

Jake Lloyd really wasn't that bad....anyways, Harry Potter, Home Alone, Murph from Interstellar, Sixth Sense, E.T., Stand by Me, the Professional...do I need more?

Jake Lloyd was terrible to me even though I'm sure it was as much the director and writer's fault. I've seen many good performances from kids over the years. Must say though that acting is a difficult skill even for adults with many years of practise, training and experience so I'd have though it would be even more difficult to kids who are learning the ropes to an extent. Guess it's different for kid actors who have been around for ages but I don't know where they get that maturity from. I was probably still learning to tie my shoelaces at that age.

The thing that annoyed me most about JP3 was seeing Ellie and Alan broken up, and Ellie married to someone else with kids. After the ending to JP, which implied Alan had really warmed to kids after spending all that time with Lex and Tim, it didn't feel right that Ellie was married and had children with another guy.

Same here. I don't care if the relationship wasn't in the book, neither was Ian Malcolm's survival and that turned out great.

Chloe Grace Moretz in Kick Ass
Dakota Fanning in everything (she was fantastic in I Am Sam and Man Under Fire)
Tatum O' Neal (Paper Moon, Bad News Bears, in fact, most of the kids in BNB were great, especially Tanner)
Stand By Me, the entire group
Christian Bale, Empire of the Sun
Anna Paquin,The Piano
Natalie Portman, Leon: The Professional
Elijah Wood, The Good Son and Radio Flyer

That will be one thing that I forever hate. I try not to watch Jurassic Park thinking about the fact that the relationship won't last and the cool arc Grant has in terms of kids is confirmed to not go anywhere we wanted, but man it is hard. I really hate that they did that. If anything I would have kept her off the island like in the finished film but for me she wouldn''t be on isla sorna or the dig sites he was at early in the film because she was pregnant with HIS kid, and maybe he doesn't tell her what he was doing since he thought it was an air tour anyway. I think it could have added such a cool element to Grant's arc in the first one. To fight to get off that island not just for his own personal well being, but to see his child grow in the world. Ugh!!!!!!!!

And Sam Neill could have brought all that! He wouldn't have been wasted!!

And a fun fact the gif of the Rex grabbing the guy in the glasses at the video store, that is David Koepp. He wrote the screenplay.

I really need this film to be good and launch a respected new series of JP films. I think the next Alien film is going to be great, not quite so confident on the next Terminator. :csad: Would love these mega franchises from my childhood to get back to what they were.

Of the 3 you just named I see JW and Alien both being good/great. I'm very excited for JW.

Hope so. The concepts of this new JP have got me much more excited than I could have foreseen. Shame the Terminator series is being run into the ground. If JP and Alien show that it's possible to properly revive these old franchises maybe the others will be taken more seriously too. I'd also like Predator to see a revival (not that the recent one was bad).

I honestly can't believe how the CGI in the first two films feel -most of the time- even better than current CGI. Some scenes are near-perfect.

Yeah, it hasn't aged at all.

One of the disappointing aspects of JW3 to me was that one of the most interesting parts, with Eric being stranded on the island and surviving without weapons for weeks is just brushed over and mentioned in passing. It could be interesting if we actually got to see that. I don't necessarily think following a kid would make for a compelling movie, but I think it could be interesting if we got to follow a character stranded on the island, trying to survive for weeks without having any weapons. Sort of like a Robinson Crusoe meets Jurassic Park.

Yeah, that was just one of those "take our word for it" things. I get he was probably resourceful, but I find it hard to believe he survived when adults were getting picked off so easy.
